Xbox setting says NAT type:open while COD AW says Nat type:strict ??

As the title, my xbox one says the nat type is open while in cod: aw says nat type is strict. Anything wrong about that?

Nat problems

since the last insider update Xbox says nat open, COD ww2 says moderate nat , multiplayer test says strict, nat test says no nat type ? Seems to come & go any ideas

Is Microsoft addressing the strict nat issue?

Im really confussed now on the xboxone dashboard it says my nat type is strict yet im now on cod ghosts and my nat type is OPEN wtf

Are you experiencing any connection issues in multiplayer, or have you noticed any issues with voice chat with friends or other players?

If you are experiencing those type of issues, post back with the router and modem you have so we can look into it for you. Be sure to include the brand name and model numbers of those devices!

Hey Mender! Oddly, Activision games usually have a completely different set of ports which need to be forwarded, in addition to the standard Xbox Live ports. Go into your router firmware and forward UDP ports 3075 and 3076. I have a thread verified on this

I had this exact issue with Ghosts, and the issue repeated with Advanced Warfare. Forwarding those two ports caused the Multiplayer Menu to show "Open" in Call of Duty, so it should work. Let me know!

What's your NAT type say. "Open" is what you want to see. MW3 is the only CoD game to ever kick my NAT type to "Strict" out of the blue.

I switched modems. It now says 'NAT type: Open'...but when I logged into ghosts it says nat type strict in the front menu.

You need to open your NAT settings, they are either strict or moderate. If they are either strict or moderate you cannot connect to anyone unless they have open settings.

Did you try changing your NAT type? The helpdoc says:

Open:

With an OPEN NAT type, you’re able to chat with other people, as well as

join and host multiplayer games with people who have any NAT type on

their network

Moderate:
With a MODERATE NAT type, you’re able to chat and play multiplayer games

with some people; however, you might not be able to hear or play with

others, and normally you won’t be chosen as the host of a match.

Strict:

With a STRICT NAT type, you’re only able to chat and play multiplayer

games with people who have an OPEN NAT type. You can’t be chosen as the

host of a match.

-- So I take that to mean if you have STRICT NAT, and if anyone in the group DOES NOT have an OPEN NAT type you are going to have problems.

Are you both running STRICT NAT type?
