Xbox Services available in Romania

You are correct that Romania is not currently on the list of supported countries and regions for Xbox. This means that Xbox consoles and services may not be available for purchase or use in Romania at this time.

If you are a resident of Romania and are interested in using Xbox consoles and services, we recommend checking back with the Microsoft website periodically to see if the availability of Xbox in Romania has changed. It is possible that Xbox may become available in Romania in the future, as Microsoft frequently expands its services to new regions.

In the meantime, there may be other ways to access Xbox consoles and services, such as purchasing them from a different country or region where they are available. However, please be aware that this may not be a straightforward process, and there may be additional costs or limitations involved.

Generally, services are unavailable because of local laws/restrictions that make providing the service problematic...it could be something like Privacy laws which aren't good enough or allow things that MS Terms of Service would not allow etc.

Just looked into it and it seems even Game Pass isn't officially supported in your country, least not according to the Supported Country list:

Edit: Seems no Xbox Services are supported so, my guess, it's your country's laws that are preventing it

Be careful discussing VPNs etc as any discussion about getting around geogrpahical blocks is against the forums rules

As to the specific Law, I would not have a clue as i am neither a lawyer nor work for Microsoft.

Looking into both Stadia and Geforce Now (I have never used either), they both stream games to your device but, far as I know, don't use anything like Xbox Live. So, my guess is they are classed as a streaming service (which may classify them under Media) rather than being classed as a Gaming Service and, as such, maybe the Laws governing such services are distinctly separate. I am, however, just speculating rather than having any actual knowledge on the matter.

The only way you are likely to (possibly) find out would be to write to the telecom/Media regulator in your country, maybe your local Government Representative etc

i'll have to search arround and see the exact law that prevents suche services. PS subscription are availba in my country, Stadia services are availabe GeForce now is availabe.. so i don't get it which law in particulary block Microsoft from give us all the services .. and i know none of the xbox services are supported in my country but there are a few workarounds that we do in order to play on the Xbox consoles.

again, feel free to share with me which law is preventig us from owning a subscription / service. from my point of view since the other services are available in our country, there must be a law created specificaly to block Microsoft Xbos services .. sice other Microsoft Services / Subscritions are supported in Romania.

I hope microsoft does something about it since i bet there are a lot of Xbox fans around and would love to use the full services without workarounds in order to access Xbox services.

I'm sorry but Xbox consoles are not sold officially in Romania and as such access to any and all online services including the store and multiplayer are not available
