  1. Xbox Series X - Xbox Wireless Connection Issues

I bought a brand new Xbox Series X last month. I set it up using the Xbox App and paired it with a brand new Microsoft Xbox Wireless Headset (https://www.xbox.com/en-US/accessories/headsets/xbox-wireless-headset).Great headset but I was having a lot of connection issues. The connection would be stable with good audio quality and then the signal would cut in and out repeatedly. This was last for several minutes until the connection would became stable again. The connection would remain stable for maybe 15-20 mins and then start cutting in and out again. Not a huge deal at first but as I was doing gaming sessions with friends and it would occur in the middle of a conversation where I couldn't hear or speak for a couple minutes and sometimes during an intense gaming moment the audio would cut in and out repeatedly and completely pull you out of the experience for the duration It would happen fairly regularly, several times in a given hour.

I went to Xbox Support and followed their troubleshooting steps (https://support.xbox.com/en-US/help/hardware-network/accessories/troubleshoot-xbox-wireless-headset ). I was still having issues so I spoke with an Xbox Support rep and they sent me a variety of troubleshooting steps starting with updating the Xbox Wireless Headset and the Xbox Series X, resetting the Xbox Series X, repairing the Xbox Wireless Headset, and doing a hard reset on the Xbox Wireless Headset. Eventually the troubleshooting took me to reformatting my Xbox Series X and re-installing my profile, checking for the latest updates (it was updated). My connection issue continued unabated.

I returned the Xbox Wireless Headset thinking it was a hardware issue and upgraded to the Turtle Beach Stealth 700 (https://www.turtlebeach.com/products/stealth-700-gen-2-xbox ). I paired the Turtle Beach Stealth 700 and it's also a great headset with great audio but the same issue began happening. Exactly the same issue as the Xbox Wireless Headset. This leads me believe that there was nothing wrong with either headset but an issue with the Xbox Wireless connection. I initially thought the connection was Bluetooth but did some research and turns out Microsoft does not use Bluetooth, instead it uses a propriety signal called "Xbox Wireless."

"The Xbox Series X doesn't have Bluetooth, similarly to the Xbox One, Xbox One S, and Xbox One X. The reason is simple; the Bluetooth signal isn't strong enough to meet Microsoft's specifications for latency. Microsoft uses its proprietary signal, dubbed Xbox Wireless, for connecting controllers and other accessories, like the Turtle Beach Stealth 600 and the SteelSeries 9X wireless headsets." (https://www.windowscentral.com/will-xbox-series-x-support-bluetooth)

I have been trying to troubleshoot this connection with Xbox Wireless and wondering if anyone else is having any issues. I have moved my Xbox Series X out and away from the television to reduce any interference issues from that. I also moved it away from the walls, where it sits to the side of my TV, with at least 12" (30cm) of clearance in any direction with direct line of sight to me on the couch about 6' (2 meters) way. I don't know what else could be causing the connection to become unstable, so consistently. I do live in dense row housing with lots of people using lots of wireless, connected devices (wi-fi, bluetooth, etc.) in close proximity. I am hoping to receive helpful tips or troubleshooting ideas from this community outside of what is already on Xbox Support:

    :)

Unable to project PC to Xbox series x using wireless display

    Hello George C.

I have tested the above and had no luck. The closet I get is I connect both PC and Xbox Series X to the same WIFI (with both network cables unplugged) and I can see the XBOX as a wireless display to cast my PC. however, it attempts to connect, and the screen blinks and immediately says disconnected.

I have now been able to connect to the XBOX with my laptop, but still not able to connect through my PC.

My PC is showing as a wireless display capable device in the Drivers command "Wireless Display Supported: Yes (Graphics Driver: Yes, Wi-Fi Driver: Yes)"

I have further uninstalled Norton antivirus from my PC and reverted to windows antivirus.

surely I cannot be the only one with this issue?

I see that this post has the same issue, but the thread is now locked

Xbox controller working but Xbox not seeing the commands

    Hi

Thank you for posting to the Microsoft community.

I understand that you are experiencing an issue with your Xbox Series X where the controller is working, but the Xbox is not responding to the commands. I'm sorry to hear that you are facing this issue, but I'm here to help you resolve it.

Firstly, I would suggest you try resetting your Xbox Series X and your controller. To reset your Xbox Series X, press and hold the power button on the console for 10 seconds until it turns off. Then, unplug the power cable from the back of the console and wait for 10 seconds before plugging it back in. Turn on your console and check if the issue is resolved.

To reset your controller, press and hold the Xbox button on the controller for 10 seconds until it turns off. Then, press the Xbox button again to turn it back on. Once the controller is on, try to connect it to your Xbox Series X and check if the issue is resolved.

If the issue persists, I would suggest you try updating your Xbox Series X and your controller to the latest software version. To update your Xbox Series X, go to Settings > System > Updates & downloads > Console update. To update your controller, connect it to your Xbox Series X using a USB cable and go to Settings > Devices & accessories > Accessories > Xbox Wireless Controller > Device info > Firmware version. If there is an update available, follow the on-screen instructions to update your controller.

If the issue still persists, I would suggest you try connecting your controller to your Xbox Series X using a USB cable and check if it works. If it does, then the issue could be with the wireless connection between your controller and your Xbox Series X. In this case, I would suggest you try resetting your wireless connection by going to Settings > Devices & accessories > Accessories > Xbox Wireless Controller > Disconnect > Connect.

If none of the above steps work, I would suggest you contact Xbox support for further assistance. They will be able to provide you with more advanced troubleshooting steps and help you resolve the issue.

I hope this helps you resolve the issue with your Xbox Series X. Let me know if you have any further questions or concerns.

We look forward to your response.

My Xbox series X keeps disconnecting from internet and Xbox live for a few a couple seconds before reconnecting. I don’t know what to do?

My series X is in the basement and is connect via wireless to the internet. I do not use the Xbox one and it isn’t even plugged in. What is confusing me is that before I got the series X I never had this issue. It only happened once I got the series x. That is what’s making this frustrating because it is the newer console but having this issue. Could it possibly be something with the system itself?

Xbox Series X Major Lag Issues

Hi there. I have tried almost every possible method of restarting, resetting and everything inbetween. Ports are forwarded, etc.

The thing is, I have my Xbox One and Series X set up beside each other. Due to the Series X’s problems, I can switch off my Series X, and switch on my Xbox One, and have no connection issues.

Both playing on the same wifi, both wireless connection, with all the same settings (except the Series X is running on 120fps).

Something is not right with the Series X and I believe it’s more than just needing to reset my MAC address...

Xbox Series X randomly disconnects from network, nothing fixes it until I rename my device and restart.

    Hi Amelia_364,

Welcome to Microsoft Xbox Community Forum. I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing issues with your Xbox Series X randomly disconnecting from the network. I understand how frustrating this can be. This is not a known issue, and it is likely related to your network settings or router configuration but if deemed that this is already a hardware issue with the console, this can be covered by warranty.

Firstly, I would like to know if you're using a wired or wireless connection to connect your Xbox Series X to the network. If you're using a wireless connection, please try connecting your Xbox Series X to the network using a wired connection to see if the issue persists. This will help us determine if the issue is related to your wireless network.

If the issue persists, please try the following steps:

    1. Power cycle your Xbox Series X by holding down the power button on the console for 10 seconds until it turns off. Then unplug the power cable from the console and wait for 30 seconds before plugging it back in and turning on the console.

    2. Reset your network settings on your Xbox Series X by going to Settings > General > Network settings > Advanced settings > Alternate MAC address > Clear > Restart.

    3. Check your network connection on your Xbox Series X by going to Settings > Network settings > Test network connection. If you see any errors or warnings, try to resolve them by following the suggested solutions.

    4. If none of the above steps help, try to update your Xbox Series X's firmware by going to Settings > System > Updates & downloads > Console update available. Follow the instructions on the screen and wait for the update to complete. Then, restart your Xbox Series X and see if the network issue is resolved.

If issue persists, please check this page and follow the steps provided to troubleshoot the issue further: Troubleshoot your network connection speed | Xbox Support

I hope this helps you resolve the issue with your Xbox Series X. Let me know if you have any further questions or concerns.

    Kind regards,

    Marrion
