Xbox series X wont boot after latest update

I updated my series X yesterday and played it just fine, however when i went to turn it on the light comes on and then fades out, no power on sound, no video output, the most i could get it to do is eject the disk. I have tried power cycling it for a minute and that didn't work. i also unplugged everything and power cycled again and tried safe mode. none of these seem to create any difference, the light comes on for a second and turns off. the only thing new is the update, and i used my google assistant to turn off the console which I don't do very often but maybe that could have something to do with it? willing to troubleshoot this one out.
