Xbox Series X won't accept a disc

Thank you for reaching Microsoft Xbox Forum support. I am sorry to know about the disk situation, but I want you not to worry about it because I am here to help you out! If the case is happening with any disk then it would be a hardware problem, but if it's
happening with a certain disk only then the disk needs to be exchanged. I would like you to go through the following steps to clear the Mac address and then perform a quick power cycle on your console:

Settings > Network Settings > Advanced Settings > Alternate Mac Address > Clear it and the console should restart. It would definitely help if you could restart the internet router while the console is restarting.

After going through the troubleshooting steps mentioned, I invite you to perform a quick power cycle by turning off the console and then unplugging all the cables. After 2 to 3 minutes, re-plug them back again, then restart your console to check if it's
installing this time.

As a part of the troubleshooting steps you can also perform a reset on the console. To do so you will need to follow the steps below on the Xbox :

Settings > System > Console Info > Reset This Xbox > Reset and Keep my Games and Apps.

Note =>The "Reset and Keep my Games and Apps" option will not cause losing your games, but please be aware that you need to be completely aware of the email address as well as the password of your account before going for it because it will require you
to sign in to the account.

Yes it will as long as you mean a Series X, not a Series S. The Series S doesn't have a disc drive so it won't work there.

If it's not backwards compatible, then it won't be possible to play it on a Series X with a disc or with a digital copy.

No one here is privy to plans for future Xbox

If you wish a disc drive on a current console you can get a series X

There is no way to Jerry-rig a Series S to accept a disc drive due to DRM requirements. The system would have to be redesigned. and you would have to purchase that revision.

Hi,

The first party games will support what Microsoft has called 'Smart Delivery'. This means that if you buy a digital version of a Smart Delivery game, you will also get the Series X version for free.

Disc games won't benefit from this feature though, so there will be a separate discs for Xbox One games and Series X games.
