  1. Xbox Series X Wired Network Problems

Just got an Xbox Series X and whenever I plug in the ethernet cable the Xbox keeps disconnecting and reconnecting every few seconds. The ethernet cable works fine with any other device, including my own Xbox. I have seen people mention this issue multiple times online however none of the solutions provided worked for me, including clearing the mac address, restarting the Xbox or checking for damages in the cable. Not sure what the next steps to take are. Help would be appreciated.

    :)

Xbox Series X Wired Network Problems

Hi and thanks for reaching Microsoft Xbox gamer's community. My name is Josef.
I'm an Independent Advisor and a Microsoft Xbox user like you.

Hope you're doing great today despite this TRISTAN_FRASER

Sorry to hear that you're having issues with your Xbox Series X.
May I know if you tried using a completely different ethernet cable just to test?
Or connecting the cable to a different port in your router

If you already tried that, can be a bit odd but try using a different DNS address
go to Settings > Network > Advanced Settings

Once you’re inside the Advanced Settings menu, go to DNS settings and select Manual from the list of available options.
When you get to the next screen, enter 8.8.8.8 in the box associated with the Primary DNS and 8.8.4.4 in the Secondary DNS box.

Once the default DNS addresses have been changed, restart your console and see if the issue has been resolved at the next console startup.
(If that doesn't work use 1.1.1.1 as primary and 1.0.0.1 as secondary)

    ------

If that doesn't work, may I know if you are using any insider build / beta OS in your console?

Xbox Series X Wired Network Problems

    Hi Josef, thanks for responding.

I have now tried everything that you mentioned in your response. I am however not using any insider builds / beta OS on my console. Also I should mention that the console does not even seem to recognisee the ethernet cable at times and instead tries to connect wirelessly.

Xbox Series X Wired Network Problems

    Hi, sorry to hear that.
Could be a hardware issue :c I personally didn't faced this in my Series X.

Before get serviced / inspected your console please try this to cover everything from your side :

Perform an offline update for your console. In that way Xbox system will be installed from scratch.
For this you need a USB and PC to format it and transfer files provided in the link below (with steps):

Two brand new Series X. One failing on hard wired connection.

Hello MarkMVP I am an independent advisor and I will be happy to help you today. My name is Khaji

It's frustrating to hear that you're experiencing wired connection issues on one of your Xbox Series X consoles.

Make sure the Ethernet cable you are using is in good condition and not damaged. Try using a different Ethernet cable to rule out problems with the cable itself.

Check the router/switch port Make sure the port you are connecting the Xbox Series X console to is healthy and working properly. You can try connecting another device to the same port to see if you experience similar problems.

Check the network settings on the Xbox Series X console. Make sure it is set to use a wired connection and that there are no incorrect or conflicting settings. You can try to reset the network settings in the console and configure it again.

If possible, try connecting the Xbox Series This can help you determine if the problem is related to your local network configuration.

Thank you very much for your patience and understanding! If you need anything else, do not hesitate to contact us again.

    Xbox series X - AUDIO - USB vs 3.5mm headphones - Quality & Latency

I understand you about the xbox license.

I rather not want to have a wireless headset because I dont like charging and the battery life will decrease over time. So that leave me with two options:
    1. Wired, 3.5mm into the Xbox series x controller
    2. Wired, usb, into the Xbox series X

I checked the microsoft store and there are only 2 compatible series X headsets. Both wireles.

Do you know any wired Xbox series X headset? That is compatible with the series x? I prefer USB but have to go 3.5mm otherwise.
