    Just got a new modem router, the Netgear Nighthawk CAX30. The wireless seems to be running fine. Main issue here is, the wired connection I have for my Series X isn't working at all, which makes no sense. It constantly acts like it wants to connect, then doesn't, and repeats. This is a bit infuriating as my ISP modem worked with the console instantly upon plugging in the Ethernet. Not sure what is different here. I have tried power cycling the console twice and unplugged the modem, no luck. I'm completely at a loss here. I did see on the Netgear community that someone had this exact same issue with a different modem, but the discussion was all over the place.

    Any help at all is greatly appreciated.

    I understand that you are experiencing issues connecting your Xbox Series X to a wired network connection.

    I apologize for the inconvenienced this has caused you. I will do my best to help you.

    Please check physical connections by testing another Ethernet cable, even if it worked previously with a different modem since it is not working now, test out another high-quality cable to rule out any intermittent issues.

    And then use another LAN port on your Nighthawk to see if one port might be malfunctioning or misconfigured.

    Next is to make sure that your router is running the latest firmware. Manufacturers often release updates to address compatibility and connectivity issues.

    Then verify that the DHCP pool is large enough and that there isn’t an IP conflict.

    After that is to do a manual network configuration on the Xbox. Do this in the advanced network settings on your Xbox Series X, please set a static IP address that you know is not in conflict with other devices on your network.

    Once done, consider a full reset of the router settings to eliminate any lingering configuration issues that might be specific to the wired interface.

    The Netgear Nighthawk R7000 seems to be a router, Is it connected to another Gateway or Modem which provides an internet connection to it ?

    They are, console is connected wired to the same router my phone connects to wirelessly. Router is a Netgear Nighthawk RAX42, gigabit on the wired ports with cat6 cable and my phones and tablets connect to the same router on the 5 GHz network. My laptop, which faces the same issue, goes to the same router wired with a cat 6 cable. Just from another room.
