Xbox series x will not connect to ethernet or Wifi

I have one Xbox (Series X) wired via Ethernet. I can play on WiFi with no disconnects but I prefer a wired connection for gaming.

yes i have done all the above..if i have it connected via ethernet it is fne but when i go to use the wifi it wont work,,says console is connected but when i try to access my games says a connection error,,, does it on my series s and my xbox one s .. and a friends series x is doing it

You've most likely tried powering down and restarting and such, so the best advice I can give is to go to your nearest "tech" spot and have it looked at.

I'm sure someone else has a possible solution in home, but I can't think of anything of such value at the moment.

I have had similar problems with my sons series x dropping internet connection and the only way of curing this was connecting the console directly to the router with an Ethernet Cable. It now works with no issues. I hope this helps.

And to add my sons Xbox one worked perfectly on our WiFi with no issues but the series x has issues, I’ve no idea why it has these issues but the cable sorted it.

After reading others people’s posts who are having the same issue, it seems this may be a wired networking issue. I unplugged the Ethernet and connected via wifi and it works fine. The wired connection issue with the series X is widespread and Microsoft needs to address this.
