Xbox Series X USB ports don't work

I have a launch day Xbox Series X, an official Microsoft USB C Play and Charge Kit and Series X controller.

When I connect the controller using the supplied USB C cable to the controller and the front port on the Series X, nothing happens.

    • The controller doesn’t turn on
    • the controller doesn’t vibrate indicating it’s charging
    • the Xbox doesn’t show the charging icon on the top right of the Home Screen.

When I connect the controller and the usb c cable to either of the rear USB ports,

    • the light on the controller doesn’t turn on
    • the Xbox won’t show the charging indicator
    • However, the controller vibrates every four to six seconds indicating it wants to start charging but for some reason doesn’t.

I've tried resetting the Xbox with both the keep games and saves option and the delete everything option, to no avail.

I even tried updating to the latest Insider Delta build to see if maybe software fixes it, but it didn't.

I've reverted to the current production build in the mean time, the problem still persist.

Anyone else have this issue or know what to do? I'm assuming it's just faulty and is going to need replacing.

    :)

How to connect usb microphones let's sing to xbox x series

Hello, JessicaB87 my name is Oskayra I am independent advisor and I will be happy to help you today.

The Xbox Series X does have only one USB port on the front, which can be limiting when connecting multiple USB devices. However, there are a couple of ways to connect two USB microphones for Let's Sing 2023 on your Xbox Series X.

    Option 1: USB Hub

The most straightforward solution is to use a USB hub. A USB hub is a device that allows you to connect multiple USB devices to a single USB port. You can connect the two USB microphones to the USB hub, and then plug the USB hub into the Xbox Series X's front USB port.

    Option 2: USB Adapter

If you don't have a USB hub, you can use a USB adapter. A USB adapter is a device that allows you to connect a USB device to a different type of port, such as an audio jack or a microphone jack. You can connect one of the USB microphones to the Xbox Series X's controller using an adapter, and then connect the other microphone to the front USB port.

    Which option is better?

The better option for you will depend on your specific needs and preferences. A USB hub is the more versatile option, as it will allow you to connect more USB devices in the future. However, a USB adapter is a more affordable option, and it will be smaller and more portable.

I hope this helps! Don't hesitate to ask if you have any further questions or need additional clarification.

Series X not recognizing External SSD as USB 3.0

Thank you for contact us! I'm Anderson, an Independent Consultant and a Microsoft user like you.

    Good evening

Ensure that you are using the correct USB port on your Series X. Some consoles have multiple USB ports, but not all of them may support USB 3.0 speeds. Check your Series X's manual or support website to see which ports support USB 3.0 speeds.

Try connecting the SSD enclosure to a different USB port on your Series X. If the first port you tried did not work, it is possible that there is an issue with that specific port. Try a different one to see if it recognizes the SSD enclosure as USB 3.0.

Verify that the USB cable you are using is rated for USB 3.0 speeds. Some USB cables may not be rated for USB 3.0 speeds and can cause the device to not be recognized as USB 3.0. Ensure that the USB cable you are using is rated for USB 3.0 speeds and is in good condition.

Xbox series X|S alternative high speed storage expansion

    Hi,

No, sorry it won't work. The USB ports on the Series X|S are USB 3.1 which have a maximum speed of 500MB/s. This means, no matter what drive you buy, no matter what speed it's rated at, you're stuck at the max speed of the USB port.

The only drives that can be used for Series X|S games are either the internal or the storage expansion card.

I have the Expansion card for my Series X. I also have an external 2TB USB SSD in an enclosure. I can only use the external SSD for Xbox One games. They do load a lot faster than a mechanical hard drive, but I can't play my Series X games off it.
