XBOX SERIES X - time for a change

Let’s have a console that can have some type of family function add ons! It’s going to cost a family a minimum of £1500 to upgrade to the Xbox series X if they have 3 gamers in there home, let alone only being able to share games with 1 other Xbox!

Time to think “outside the box” and have a more friendly approach to those with kids/family that are loyal to Xbox and Microsoft!

If they can introduce a way where you can get the main console and then upto 4 “mini consoles” around the house for half the price this would be amazing it would also mean you can have 1 home console and upto 4 mini consoles which share the same bought
games library, Xbox live and games pass!
If they can do that it will blow Sony away for good!

It would be quite simple (I assume) have the main Xbox series x console with everything on it and then have the mini boxes only play games or apps nothing else.

Basically have 1TB storage mini boxes so you can have the games run from the box but that’s it, no market place, no browser, no disc drive, just a digital only on the mini boxes, nothing just the games and app library and that’s it. this would allow gaming
families the option to not only jump to xbox and Microsoft but also means its cost effective for a family.

Whilst im sure it's possible it may not make financial sense. All consoles are sold at a loss at launch now-a-days anyway so to further that with quite a niche device that very few people would use could raise eyebrows. When Sony attempted something similar
with the PSTV and remote play it bombed, any they thought they struck gold.

Market is too volatile to make that mistake now, especially when Microsoft have made it clear their accessibility to gaming will come through the cloud, not additional household devices.

I for one am not a fan of the console wars and like our PS4 or Switch sometimes. I would much enjoy if licensing and agreements could be furthered and figured out so we all could get more cross play games.

A big part of why people argue about consoles being better or worse is only because of the awkwardness we find out when a friend has got the 'wrong'/opposite console as us. If we could cross play this would never be an issue.

Do those of you wish consoles AND PCs but aren't hardware inclined ask your friends and families what brand of computer they're using? Probably not and it's because they can play with one another and support mostly the same software. Even macintosh and windows
commonly play nice now in most popular games..

I think that's a brilliant idea! I'd they did this, I'd definitely get a receiver for my kids to use.

I'd probably also get one for my bedroom too, keeping the main console in the living room.
