    Hi all,

    My Xbox Series X tells me I am connected to the internet (wired) when there is no ethernet cable pugged in.

    I attempted to resolve this problem by factory resetting my console, but was met with the following error code: Error code 0x8B0500B6 0x00000000 0x00000200

    Luckily, I used the hard shutdown method on the console (hold the power button for 5-10s until console completely shuts off) and this temporarily resolved the issue for long enough to reset my console - after an hour of panic at the thought of having a bricked
    console...

    I'm back online, all is working fine, but if I properly turn the console off or if I restart the console I encounter the same issue: it says I'm connected to the internet but it wont login to Xbox Live, does not have an IP address and does
    not have a MAC address. I have also attempted to reset the MAC address, but when it says: "Restart console" it does nothing.

    I have also hard reset my router, power cycled my router, power cycled my fibre connection into the house
    AND forced the router to forget the Xbox. None of this has resolved the issue.

    The good news is, this is now an inconvenience (having to hard shutdown the console and reboot if I encounter this issue) rather than an utter catastrophe, but some help or assistance on how to resolve this long term would be extremely well-received.

    All I want is to know that I can hard shutdown or restart my console without encountering this network problem again.

    My Xbox keeps shutting my WiFi down

    It can't be because ive used all types of connections including wired and it shuts down the internet I'm on after a min on I tried restarting my Xbox change the Wi-Fi settings I even dabble with settings and deleted some games. But nothing is working and I wanna fix it because I don't have enough money for a series X. So pls if u find a solution pls tell me.

    Geri, I'm not sure if you still are receiving this thread but I did get my replacement Xbox controller today and I hooked it up to my series X and everything worked fine except that there is no sound coming through my wired headphones. These are Arctis Prime Steel Series wired headphones that worked fine with all my other controllers and just recently with my Xbox series X controller but when I connected to the Elite control they sent me it does there's no sound coming through. I cleaned the port a harder rebooted my Xbox Series X I updated the firmware and still no results.

    Do you have any suggestions?

    Hey Hart_00,

    Have you tried setting up the console using a wired connection?

    Personally, I had trouble setting my console up because it thought it was connected to the internet, but it was not receiving any signal (see following Community
    Forum Post from 14th November    .

    My recommendation would be to try and set up via wired internet connection first. If you still struggle, hold down the Xbox button for 10 seconds to 'hard shut down' the console. Then reboot and it should have cleared the MAC address and open up access to
    the internet.

    i'm having same problem,i try to test connection and it tells me when i go to wired network that" to use internet connection,make sure an ethernet cable is connected to both your console and your router or modem" then won't go any further and i've checked
    all my connections and double checked all my wire's and their all good
