    Xbox series X|S wireless controller issues on PC


    Hello!

    Earlier today when I turned my controller on for the first time in about 2 to 3 weeks, I discovered that every button other than the thumb sticks(but not the clicks), triggers, and power button were no longer registering inputs, it even looks like the sync button isn't working anymore. Does anyone have an idea of why this might have happened and what I can do to try and fix it? I've already restarted my PC, turned the controller off with the power button, removed the battery, plugged the controller directly into the PC, tried uninstalling/reinstalling drivers, and I updated it in the Xbox Accessories app. I think I did have to sync the controller when I switched it on earlier, so maybe something went wrong there? I would appreciate any advice.

    Xbox wireless controllers, including the latest Xbox Wireless Controllers included with the Xbox Series X and Series S consoles, are compatible with the Xbox Series S. In addition, some older Xbox One wireless controllers work with the Xbox Series S. As for third-party wireless controllers, the compatibility depends on the specific controller and whether it is designed to work with the Xbox wireless protocol. The Ant eSports controller you mentioned appears to be a third-party controller designed for PC gaming, and it may not be compatible with the Xbox Series S.

    If I may ask, is this an Xbox One Wireless Controller or Xbox Series X|S Wireless controller?

    Hello,

    There isn't a specific adaptor for the Series X/S controllers for PC. The current adaptor works just fine with these newer controllers, however it is now in very short supply. There are third party ones available that do the same thing.

    The Xbox 360 wireless controllers use a different WIFI protocol, they need their own Xbox 360 wireless Gaming Receiver.

    Xbox One and Series X/S controllers can be connected to PC via Bluetooth, but headsets will only work with the Xbox One adaptor (or a third party version), they won't work when the controller is connected via BT

    Hi,

    In short, you can't. Unlike Xbox One or Series X|S controllers, the 360 wireless controllers are always wireless. The Play & Charge kit simply charges the battery, it does not send data.

    The only way to use an 360 wireless controller on a PC is via an Xbox 360 gaming receiver for Windows.
