Xbox Series X|S controller A button double input

I'm having this problem with two brand new official Xbox standard controllers (on Xbox Series S). Occasionally the A button sends a double input when pressed once (noticeable especially in game menus, such as Elden Ring inventory or Yu-Gi-Oh! cards selection).

The problem doesn't seem to appear when the console is just turned on but only after some minutes. I searched online, several discussions but no fix. Is this a software or hardware issue?

Pad and console are updated to the latest version. I play wireless (don't have any usb-c cable at the moment).

Already talked to a microsoft agent, no solution found.

I did all the process. After that I played about 30 minutes with no issues than the double click happened twice. Before turning off the console I tested the inputs in game menus for 2-3 minutes and it didn't reappeared. So it's infrequent as always but it's still there (and sometimes the frequency is higher, that's the trouble). Do you think it's a controller factory defect? Should I ask for a return at my local store? I'm still in time (only for one of the two controllers). Nobody seems to have a solution.

Tried a new controller. Same problem and now it happens more frequently. Any more help?

Hi, thanks for the help. Controllers are updated. I already tried to reinstall the games, still have the same problem. Probably it persists also in the Xbox menus but I never noticed it (I have navigated them too little for testing).

The first days everything seemed fine with the first controller (I tested the second one only when the problem started), I used to turn-off the console with a "total shutdown", maybe that made a difference?
