    Xbox Series X/S Blu Ray Specs


    Hello,

    Will the Series X/S play home burned 50GB Double Layer Blu Ray discs? I'm burning 4K videos to these discs and need to know if they will work before I buy a new Xbox. Needless to say my Xbox One will not read them.

    What does the Xbox 360 use in it’s games? Discs or DVDs? (Or something else)

    To clarify;

    PlayStation 1 - CD-ROM

    Sega Saturn - CD-ROM

    Sega Dreamcast - GD-ROM - A proprietary disc format

    PlayStation 2 - DVD

    Nintendo GameCube - Nintendo Optical Disc

    XBOX - DVD

    PlayStation 3 - Blu-Ray

    XBOX 360 - DVD

    Nintendo Wii - Wii Optical disc (basically DVD)

    Wii U - Wii U Optical disc (basically Blu-Ray)

    PlayStation 4 - Blu-Ray

    XBOX One, One S and One X - Blu-Ray

    PlayStation 5 - Blu-Ray

    XBOX Series X - - Blu-Ray

    Copy protection is not an issue. These are home authored Blu Rays of .AVI and .MOV files. I'm just interested if the drive can read the *format* of the *double layer* BD-R's (holds 50 GB.)

    Are they hdcp2 compliant ? If not them no as with any blurays players both the exception of blurays drives on computers

    Players have to have copy protection so if they are illegally copied and stripped movies them nothing other then computers can read them

    Do you get a hdcp2 compliance warning ? If so that would be why

    It's your encoding software

    If you are burning copied movies that won't work because in order to copy the movies you need to remove the hdcp2 which all blurays players require

    Home movies don't have that requirement and blurays software some of the more shaddier software might play them but you are limited to that softqare

    Xbox one OG doesn't play 4k movies

    Only xbox one s and up
