Xbox Series X Repair Question

Game saves are stored on a partition on the internal SSD, even if the games you're playing are stored on an external HDD or an expansion card. If you are connected to Xbox Live, they are automatically backed up there. That applies to both disc-based games and digital ones. Saves are automatically kept in sync, so if you play a game and make a bunch of progress on it, that new local save will be backed up to Xbox Live, replacing the save that was on there.

When you play a game you have saved progress on for the first time after receiving the refurbished console, after you launch it it will say "Syncing data for Forza Horizon 5" (or whatever the game is), a copy of your cloud save will be downloaded to the console's internal SSD, then you will continue on from where you left off.

So, as long as you were connected to Live when you you were playing, and as long as everything worked as it should, you will not lose any progress on your games.

If, however, you were playing offline, and not connected to Live, your progress would be lost.

Saves are not held on external drives,they are saved on the consoles hard drive/ssd & on the cloud.

You've already been told several times what will happen & how to access your saves.

While we are more than happy to answer your questions you are just asking the same question over & over again & have been answered many times by different people.
