Xbox series x recently opened with defective plastic.

I bought a new xbox series x from the microsoft online store and when I opened it,
I noticed that certain areas of the front of the shell, especially around the home button and through the center,
have some kind of discoloration. I would like to know if this happens to someone else or if it is something normal.
The console is new, so I can still go to warranty.

Usually that's not usual, if you have warranty on it.
I think the best option could be just exchange it for another one

This is the major problem of this generation xbox one’s accessories: too fragile/defective. Hope they will do better on series x

my xbox series x did the same thing its a defective unit sent mine back and a new one is back on its way to me

Is it located in a closed area? It should be within a couple of weeks, depending on the usage and ventilation.

I recommend that you keep on observing it. Since it's not overheating, there's less reason to be concerned.
