  1. XBox Series X Randomly Turns On, Button A on any controller stops working

    Hi

    Incredibly frustrating -

    1. About 4 pm yesterday our XBox Series X starting turning itself on randomly.

    2. After this, button A on either of our controllers (1 standard, 1 elite wireless series 2) won't work for a indeterminate amount of time, it then seems to work.

    3. So far have taken the following steps:

    - Hard power off for two hours

    - Upgraded firmware on both controllers

    - Cleaned buttons on wireless controller with iso

    - Tested behaviour with each controller separately

    - Reset button profiles on both controllers

    - Soft factory reset ( kept games and data), accepted retained settings

    - Hard factory reset,

    - Turned off HDMI CEC

    - Changed power settings to Shut Down

    - Turned automatic console updates off

    - Turned game updates off

    4. We are also in Australia and have a Fetch TV as well so have covered the remote port on the XBox in case that was causing it

I have also requested phone support - calls were cut after answering both times without conversation and have raised this in chat.

Support doesn't have a category for this issue, so I am internally raging right now. Short of buying a new system, which we really don;t want to do, what are our other options.

    :)

Elite 2 controller not working on game on Halo 2

I have a problem with my Xbox elite series 2 controller. It works fine while playing any other game but when I play fortnite it randomly stops working while playing, none of the buttons work even when I plug it in it doesn’t work but out of nowhere it starts working again and it happens over and over again. I’m also playing on the Xbox series S

Xbox One X randomly disconnects all controllers during middle of game.

I don't get the same problem as you but kind of similar. My Xbox one X turns itself on randomly and also suggest stopped doing anything when the A button is pressed on the home screens. It recognizes that you pressed the button, it just doesn't do anything.
If you hold the button down it might recognize it eventually. It does this with every controller I have so it's not the controllers.

Face buttons are inconsistent when pushing them down

ABXY buttons. I noticed it in rocket league as I'm holding boost down with the B button and it will randomly stop working. Playing Celeste the controller will eat my A and X buttons to jump and dash which prompted me to open the Xbox Accessories app to investigate. Depending on how I push the buttons, it won't detect the button press. If I push the B button in the bottom left of it, the button doesn't activate which is particularly annoying given my thumb rests there so it can hit the A button as well.

The same issue occurs in all the series X/S controllers but slightly different and it doesn't occur in my xbox one controller. These are also new, like a day old and they're already having these issues so it isn't from wearing out.

Do I need a new controller?

Hello ÚÑKÑØẄÑ ©, My name is David. I am an independent advisor, happy to help you today.

I'm sorry you're experiencing this issue with your Xbox Series X controller. Here are some possible solutions you could try:

Restart your Xbox console: Press and hold the power button on your Xbox console until it turns off. Next, disconnect the Xbox Series X from its power source. Turn off the Xbox controller and remove its batteries. Finally, connect and turn on your Xbox Series X.

Restart the controller: Press and hold the power button on the controller for several seconds until it turns off. Then turn it back on.

Pair the controller with the console again: Press and hold the sync button on the console until the power button flashes. Then, press and hold the sync button on the controller until the lights on the controller flash.

    Best regards.
