Xbox Series X random fan starting with max speed, when console in sleeping mode

    Hello everyone!

I'm noticed a few days ago, a strange fan starting, when my Xbox is on sleep mode. The fan randomly starts at maximum speed, and it's loud as hell, but nothing else happens, so the console itself does not turn on or anything, just the fan going with crazy
speed with high level of noise. This happening since then, a few times a day, usually at the mornings, and at the evenings, which means this is going on 2-3 times a day.
Should i worry about it? How cloud i prevent this without turning off the non eco mode?

    :)

Xbox series x fan stops spinning when Xbox series x is put to sleep or shutdown mode

When I want to disconnect the electricity from the device, I turn off the device completely through the settings

You should not disconnect the power from the Xbox Series X while it is in sleep or shutdown mode even if the fan does not rotate ???

Dying Light 2 only 30 fps on Series S... What a disgrace!

Since I don’t know where to post this I will try in this thread…

Three months ago I bought new Series X from my local store. After two months I’ve noticed that while i’m playing Forza Horizon 5 (doing liveries in garage) my Series X fan was spinning louder than usual. And when I get my hands on Dying Light 2 I started playing in quality mode. But after a while (it’s random - sometimes 5 minutes, sometimes after an hour) my Series X fan starts spinning like crazy for a few seconds (my console even restarted today). I don’t have such problems in resolution or performance mode only in quality mode. My question is - is my series x have problems with overheating? Should I send it back to Microsoft? Or it’s maybe bad optimization of DL2? Also I don’t have such problems while playing Witcher 3 at 4k resolution or even Metro Exodus. My console is in well ventilated place, on top of my desk.

    Installing to hard drive?

It's a rather large install. You can usually speed up installs by starting the install and then putting the console to sleep. The game will continue to install while asleep and since the console will be performing very few functions while in sleep mode,
installation time will be drastically reduced.

Xbox Series X constant fan spinning in sleep mode.

Hello, first it's a pleasure to be able to help you today.

My name is welcome to the community.

Hello Ingram, in these modes it usually maintains a low rotation of the fan, for automatic updates etc. if you wish and is what I usually do on my console is a complete shutdown of the console, going into: Settings»Power mode & start-up»Total Shutdown.

Below I leave a link with more details about the power modes.

Loud Power Brick When My Console is "Off" in "Instant-On Mode"

Mine is the same. The fan in the PSU is smaller than the one in the console and likely spins faster to shift the hot air, which is why it's noisier. I find it annoying too. The Xbox 360 PSUs also supplied a trickle of power to the console when it was turned
off, but the Xbox One in sleep mode draws considerably more power so I guess they were unable to supply that without the PSU running 24/7. It's a shame, as disabling the sleep mode means you lose the "Xbox on" voice command, it takes far longer for the console
to start up, you lose being able to suspend the game (which is a feature that's in beta at the moment) when the console is "off", and you lose the ability for the console to download game and system updates while the console is in sleep mode. I don't think
there would be way for them to fix this without redesigning the hardware, or unless you got lucky and got a PSU that has a particularly quiet fan, as there's always a little bit of variance with these things.

In terms of the hardware, it's the only thing I find a little disappointing about the Xbox One. The system and controller are great and the Kinect is much improved over the first one, but the power brick is no better than the Xbox 360 S model, except now
it stays on 24/7 unless you disable the sleep mode (which gimps some of the console's functionality).
