Xbox Series X Powers Off If I Change My Source on TV

Xbox Series X turns off when the hdmi source is changed. So if I pause my game and switch to my cable box source on the TV the Xbox turns off. I have tried all port ) source combos. Same result. I have tried new cables. Is this an HDMI CEC setting issue?

I have 4 TV inputs and tried Xbox to each and they all do that.

How can I change settings to stop this?

It is most likely the "Other devices can turn console off" seeting. Can you try turning that off?

HDMI-CEC is supported only on Xbox One X, Xbox Series S, and Xbox Series X. You must also enable HDMI-CEC on your TV.

Xbox Series X|S consoles can use an HDMI feature called Consumer Electronics Control (CEC) to send commands to and from CEC-enabled devices (such as TVs and AVRs) that are connected to the console.

This feature can be turned on and off via the TV & A/V power options settings screen. Press the Xbox button  to open the guide, then go to Profile & system > Settings > General > Sleep mode & startup > TV & A/V power options.

Restart your Xbox console: Press and hold the power button on your Xbox console until it turns off. Next, disconnect the Xbox Series X from its power source. Turn off the Xbox controller and remove its batteries. Finally, connect and turn on your Xbox Series X.

Restart the controller: Press and hold the power button on the controller for several seconds until it turns off. Then turn it back on.

Pair the controller with the console again: Press and hold the sync button on the console until the power button flashes. Then, press and hold the sync button on the controller until the lights on the controller flash.

I find this incredibly annoying as well--I wish they would add more control over the exact command to be used for power on/off of tv and audio receiver instead of these power toggles. I want it to use my input source select for the receiver and power on
for tv when it comes on, and power off for both the receiver and tv when it powers off. The toggle is prone to errors when things aren't in a specific state before someone says "xbox on" or "xbox turn off". I also wish if I manually press the power button
on the box if it would just shut that off instead of turning back on my tv/receiver.

I am able to watch TV while the xbox one is turned off. I just change the source to TV and somehow it works
