Nope it's just because 3d movies are dying everyone is going 4k as it's a more set standard

Hello, according to the Xbox website the format plays when played on 3d TV's, do you perify at some level of insider, or have you received any updates that causes it to no longer perform this function?

Yes the Xbox one X does support 3d BluRay playback.

Have you checked video settings to see if allow 3d is checkmarked?

CrazyHorse, Don't forget your X! surprisingly in this day and age ridicoulsly doesn't support 3d. That's 3D via BluRay or passthru such as for Direct TV 3D channels.

Sorry, but nowhere on that google search does it confirm that the system will play 3d bluray. There is confirmation it has a bluray drive and there is confirmation it will support 3d but this may only mean 3d games as supported by the xbox 360.

Currently a dedicated 3d bluray player (or a ps3) is required to play 3d films, you cannot do it with any old bluray drive, so whilst I would be highly surprised if it does not play them, there still has not been confirmation of this.
