Xbox series x ping/latency

Hello i am lost recently got an xbox series x and my ping hits about 45 ms at the lowest typically around 50-100ms on both wifi and wired connection and it is very annoying because on every other device in my house computers, cellphones are consistently reading below 20 ms ping on wifi and this 50-100 ms ping is almost impossible to play vanguard on i see someone and am dead faster than i can blink any help is apreciated thanks

Hi, I hope you're doing great out there despite the issue that you're experiencing. I am an Independent advisor and I am here to help you in regards to your concern.

Please perform an extended powercycle and reset your network hardware by following the steps below:

1. Unplug the power cable from the back of the router, modem, or gateway for 5 minutes. If you have a router and a modem, unplug the power cable from both devices.

2. Press and hold the Xbox button on your console for 10 seconds or until it turns off then wait for 2 minutes before turning it on again.

3. After 5 minutes, plug the modem or gateway in first, and wait for all the lights to return to their normal state.

4. If you are using a router, plug in the router and wait for all the lights to return to their normal state.

I'm not very knowledgeable on pings and stuff but do you have a Laptop or PC available? Might be worth seeing what the latency is on a different device to know whether it's the network connection of the XB1 or whether it's the network itself

I would suspect it is likely to be the network itself rather than your hardware. Is it impacting your gaming or is it just something you noticed? I only ask as high pings and latency don't always cause issues....my latency on PC, XB1 and Series X is around 150 and I have no issues

The latency shown on the network tab is not an accurate reading to in game latency. The number shown is the ping the Xbox One gets trying to ping the Xbox servers in Redmond Washington, for gaming however your Xbox pings the closest server available so you
can just neglect the ping on the network tab.
