Xbox Series X PC speakers with controller jack.

Let me jump straight in.

My monitor doesn't allow for sound. So previously all I did was plug in a cheap PC speaker. Audio Jack into the controller and power from the monitor with the USB.

Worked fine. Eventually it just stopped without degradation or warning. The speakers when I plugged my phone into the same setup had a clicking coming thro the speakers tho I could still hear the media audio. So figured I'd buy a new set. As the speakers must have become faulty. Just the fault was too much for the controller. This time I got a set of pc speakers for about £20.

Tho I can't get anything from the controller. Phone set up works fine so it's not the speakers. I can't understand why the I had sound coming thro the controller worked fine for months. Then just 2 day without warning. It won't work with speakers I get for it.

Controller is fine. It's not been thrown or otherwise damaged.

I've seen previous posts. Tho they've all been closed with something along the lines of "Xbox doesn't support PC speakers plugged into the controller"

Tho I can assure everyone that it did work up until a month ago.

So there must be something else at play.

Anyone have had this happen to them?

To get Xbox audio through your Logitech Z200 speakers, which are connected to your AOC Gaming Q27G2E monitor via a 3.5mm jack, you'll need to make sure the audio is properly routed from your Xbox Series X to the monitor.

Check your monitor's audio input: First, make sure that your monitor (AOC Gaming Q27G2E) is capable of receiving audio through its 3.5mm audio input. Typically, monitors that have built-in speakers or an audio output port (3.5mm jack) also have an audio input option.

Connect the Xbox to the monitor: Use an HDMI cable to connect your Xbox Series X to the AOC Gaming Q27G2E monitor. This will handle the video signal.

Not 'any monitor' no. They need to be be pretty much exactly 120Hz over HDMI. Forget the other refresh rates, 144Hz and beyond are PC refresh rates for PC connected via Display Port. Just because a display says 144Hz, 166Hz or whatever, doesn't mean it will support 120Hz when connected to an Xbox Series X.

However, monitor's have become really popular for console owners since the latest machines launched in 2020. There are loads of reviews of monitors that have been proven to work on Xbox Series X|S consoles.

Also, YouTube is a great source of reviews and recommendations for displays for the Xbox Series X|S console. Ignore the reviews that are for PC unless they specifically show the monitor working on a console.

Lastly, bear in mind that unlike TV's, most monitors do not have built in speakers. To achieve sound without headphones will require you to connect a set of PC speakers via the monitors built in 3.5mm headphone jack.

Yeah they are pc speakers. The plug in with usb + 3.5mm jacks.
