Xbox Series X Noises

Hi guys,

My Xbox seems to be emitting a tone ever 10 seconds or so, even with the console off.

It makes a kind of "weeee,er" tone. The exact same sound.

I have also noticed when the Xbox is off( even for days) the fan is still spinning but pushing out cold air... i.e its not emitting heat as everything else is off except the fan..?

Is this a warranty thing? Otherwise the Xbox exhibits no other problems... if it even is a problem?

I say 'if' because I muck around with PCs and some noises are just coil whine etc...

you can use the Series X also laying,

there are actual no tests about the heat and noise.

Is it possible your console in on instant on mode? That could be the reason why the fan is still on. If you turn the power to power saving mode, that will turn the console off without the fan spinning.

How did i not think of this. Still odd that the fan is always spinning though, hopefully the bearings will last.

I think you are right, I'm pretty sure instant on is active, and I'm guessing then that it's a capacitor making the noise.

Is it a loud 'tone'? Is it annoying?

It's unlikely to be coil whine as that typically only occurs when a system is being pushed, not when it's on a low power mode.

Coil whine isn't related to system fans, the whining noise comes from power passing through a transformer or conductor.
