    Xbox Series X No Sound Via HDMI After Using Headphones On Controller.


    When I plug my Apple headphones into my Xbox Series X controller I get a bad buzzing feedback unless I turn the mic volume all the way down.

    Now, I get no audio through my TV. I've tried plugging and unplugging the headphones a few times, hard restarting the console, resetting the console while saving my games, and multiple HDMI ports on the TV with no luck.

    It seems like the console either thinks that my TV doesn't have speakers or it thinks I still have headphones plugged into the controller. The TV shows "No Input" when I switch to the Xbox's input source. I'm using a Vizio 4k TV that doesn't have issues
    with audio from other devices.

    I've reported a problem through the console but wasn't patient enough to type all of this out with the on screen keyboard.

    Mine was doing the same thing. Hard reset fixed my problem try that. Turn xbox on and hold the power button till it does the hard reset.

    Just to clarify, are you trying to get sound via the Xbox One controller's headphone port?

    I have the same setup as you (X360 hooked into X1 via HDMI-in) and I get all Xbox 360 sounds going into my headphones (when connected to X1 controller).

    How are your audio settings configured for both your Xbox One and Xbox 360?

    Hi,

    The 3.5mm headphone jack on Xbox One/Series X|S controllers (including Elite controllers) does not work when connected via Bluetooth. It will only work via USB or the official Xbox wireless adaptor.

    Geri, I'm not sure if you still are receiving this thread but I did get my replacement Xbox controller today and I hooked it up to my series X and everything worked fine except that there is no sound coming through my wired headphones. These are Arctis Prime Steel Series wired headphones that worked fine with all my other controllers and just recently with my Xbox series X controller but when I connected to the Elite control they sent me it does there's no sound coming through. I cleaned the port a harder rebooted my Xbox Series X I updated the firmware and still no results.

    Do you have any suggestions?

    I also have the same setup. Xbox Series X conneted to Samsung TV via HDMI. Samsung TV connected to a Klipsch sound bar via HDMI ARC. Experiencing the same issue described by many others.
