Xbox Series X Microsoft Edge orange update icon

I use Microsoft Edge on my Xbox for internet browsing since I don't own a PC and a orange update icon appeared on the top right corner of the browser and every time I click the update now, it closes the browser and nothing happens. And when I open Microsoft Edge again the orange icon appears again. Is this a bug? or is the Xbox Microsoft Edge not updating correctly.

As far as I'm aware Edge on console is updated automatically when a new Xbox console System OS update is released. Usually every month for General Availability release

The version I'm using right now, on a Series X, Version 104.0.1293.44 (Official build) (64-bit) is the latest available to Alpha Skip Ahead Insider members.

I have never gotten any notification to update Edge on console.

You aren't using common sense

You never ever visit a website or click on notifications from unknown sources

No browser will ever ask you to update

From a webpage

Where you are looking is the notifications bar NOT OFFICAL xbox updste

You cannot update within thr browser

Xbox updates only go thru the Xbox update app NOT Your browser

As edge is not a discontinued btowser

And uses the latest engine

Chrome on desktop will ask you because they use their own update protocol but as mentioned consoles don't have that
