Xbox Series X media apps cause the screen to flicker/blink

I have noticed a problem when I use my Series X on my new 32” Samsung 4K 60hz monitor. That being when I use certain media apps (like netflix) it triggers a frenzy of flickering and in some cases the screen blacks out for a short period. I believe this is caused by the consoles software rather then the monitors and it is very frustrating. It doesn’t flicker when playing games in 4k (or older games in 720p) or when I’m on YouTube, only on some media apps. In the end I have to restart my Xbox because after I use one of the apps that causes the flickering it doesn’t stop. Is there a way I can get around this, or will I have to wait for Microsoft to release an update? Thanks.

P.S. Everthing works fine when I use a 1080p 60hz TV, and I’ve heard about this same problem happening on other 4K monitors and TV’s. So I’m confident it isn’t a hardware problem.

    :)

No software update would solve that problem usually happens when vsync is off or worse you arent using a good cable or your port just ain't fast enough

    Xbox one screen flickering black

    Help[quote user="xZasshuken"]

My xbox one makes my tv flicker black non-stop when i open games and apps. I switched HDMI cords to see if it was the issue and it still flickers. It's not the tv either cause i've tried a separate xbox one and no issues. I need to know the issue here with
the xbox that keeps making the screen flicker black. I did the hard reset with holding the power button down and it didnt fix it.

HDR image flickering on Xbox One X with LG C9 TV

    what is your Problem?

    Flickering Screen on Xbox

Flickering Screen on Xbox with HDR

Screen goes Black on HDR with Xbox ?

You talk about going black but have flickering on Topic.

There was an official Problem with HDR Flickering on that TVs and Xbox but that should be fixed a time ago
The screen flickers when HDR or HDMI ULTRA HD Deep Colour is on in the TV, after a while of flickering it goes black, then the TV loses the signal from the Xbox. That's
    my problem.

If I deactivate HDMI ULTRA HD Deep Colour, then there's no more flickering and no more black screen.

Well it isn't fixed yet, I'm 100% sure I am on the latest firmware on both the LG C9 and the Xbox One X.

    Series X screen flickering?

Hello, how are you? My name is Mateus. I'm an Independent Advisor and I'll be glad to help you today.

First, welcome to the Xbox community. Given the solutions you've tried to solve this problem, I suggest you try the alternatives below, please.

Try testing your console on another TV or Monitor if possible

Change the HDMI port your console is connected to the tv and also the console itself

Try plugging the console directly into the power outlet, without using a line filter

Try testing the console on another power outlet

Try using another HDMI cable if possible

    - If none of the above steps solve the problem, I suggest you try the solutions below.

    'Solution 1:

Step 1. Press and hold the Xbox button on the console for at least 10 seconds to open the Power center.

Step 2. Then unplug the power supply from your console and wait for 3 minutes.

Step 3. Plug the power supply back into the Xbox console.

Step 4. Press the Xbox button on the console to turn it on again.

    Solution 2:

Press the Xbox button to open the guide.

Select Profile & system > Settings > System > Console info.

    Select Reset console.

On the Reset your console? screen, you'll see three options:

    - Select the option to keep your games and apps so that they are not deleted, make sure you know your email and password as they will be removed from the console and you will need to add them again.

*Thank you in advance for contacting, I hope this can help you.

I'm an Independent Advisor and a Microsoft Xbox user like you.

Hope you're doing great today despite this Sir

I have another two things to suggest you before thinking about a console issue

    1. In case you didn't try it, could be nice perform an offline update for your console. In that way Xbox system will be installed from scratch.
For this you need a USB and PC to format it and transfer files provided in the link below (with steps):

    https://support.xbox.com/en-US/help/hardware-ne...

    2. Send this feedback with all troubleshooting steps realized to Xbox team, in case there's an issue with the Xbox system affecting few users:
    https://support.xbox.com/en-US/help/account-pro...

Besides that, the next step will be request a repair order for your console

Hope it helps, but if you have further questions feel free to ask
