Xbox Series X losing Controller Connection

Thanks for the help. I went through the process and the Xbox started up and updated. After the update it said it would restart.

However, the console turned off after the update and did not restart. And now the problem still is happening.

This is seeming like a more serious problem than I originally thought.

It doesn’t seem to make it all the way to the end of the progress bar before it turns off. I tried twice but will try again.

System is barely over 1 year old and we don’t use it very much.

I did a factory reset and I have the same issue. The update downloads and verifies. Then the system is supposed to restart but it just turns off and doesn’t turn back on.

Then when I turn it on myself it starts the update over.

Any other ideas?

Thank you for this; the issue is that the pair button on the Series X does not work most of the time. It just does not start the pairing process; I have multiple older Xboxs including the Xbox One X and the Xbox One Elite and neither had an issue pairing
the Elite 2.

This issue has been around since last generation. One thing I had work for me was to try to pair using the buttons.

Then connect it via the USB cable. Make sure they are paired.

Shut down your Xbox completely (Full Shutdown option in power menu or hold down the power button for a few seconds).

After that, remove power cable from the back of your xbox for about 30 seconds.

Plug the power back in then try and power on the xbox using the controllers Xbox button.

This weird arcane method has worked in the past, not sure why, but with luck that may resolve your issues.
