Xbox Series X instantly disconnecting and reconnecting to xbox live

I am having an incredibly frustrating issue where I will be playing online multiplayer and out of nowhere I am kicked from the game saying I have no connection to xbox live, but when I click test connection it reconnects straight away.

    I use a powerline adapter into my xbox series x, it states when I see the detailed statistics that;

    speed is around 110mbps,

    upload around 9mbps,

    latency 32ms,

    Packet loss 0%

    MTU 1480

This seems to happen when playing world of tanks or battlefield 1, I haven't noticed it in other games recently (pubg or apex legends)

I have tried all the usual, restarts, turn off and on etc

I have even set up port forwarding and I still get the same issues

I am on virgin media and use a linksys router (with virgin router in modem mode)

I have only had these issues for the past month or two

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    :)

Xbox Series X instantly disconnecting and reconnecting to xbox live

Hello there @W322A, I hope everything is going well!

Thank you for reaching Microsoft Xbox Forum support. I am sorry to know about the disconnecting situation, but I want you not to worry about it because I am here to help you out! I believe your console might need either a network reset or just a system refresh.
I would like you to go through the following steps to clear the Mac address and then perform a quick power cycle on your console:

Settings > Network Settings > Advanced Settings > Alternate Mac Address > Clear it and the console should restart. It would definitely help if you could restart the internet router while the console is restarting.

After going through the troubleshooting steps mentioned, I invite you to perform a quick power cycle by turning off the console and then unplugging all the cables. After 2 to 3 minutes, re-plug them back again, then restart your console.

Another thing you should check is your NAT type. I would like you to check your NAT type if open because that could sometimes interfere. to check for the NAT type you can follow the steps below:

Settings > Network Settings > NAT type => It should be open.

If the NAT type is not open, you will need to open some ports with your internet provider. These ports must be open for Xbox Live to work: Port 88 (UDP) Port 3074 (UDP and TCP) Port 53 (UDP and TCP) Port 80 (TCP) Port 500 (UDP) Port 3544 (UDP) Port 4500
    (UDP).

In case the issue still persists after the previous steps have been performed here is the official link to all the network troubleshooting steps that can help sort this out for you.

The link: Troubleshoot your Xbox One network connection | Xbox Support

In case the issue still persists, the next step would be to perform a reset on the console. To do so you will need to follow the steps below to perform a reset on the Xbox :

Settings > System > Console Info > Reset This Xbox > Reset and Keep my Games and Apps.

Note =>The "Reset and Keep my Games and Apps" option will not cause losing your games, but please be aware that you need to be completely aware of the email address as well as the password of your account before going for it because it will require you
to sign in to the account.

I wish you a lovely day, and I hope this helps you out! All the best!

    Kind Regards

    Stay safe, and happy gaming!

    keep disconnecting then reconnecting instantly.

    Hi Higher,

Sorry to hear about the connection troubles. Let's see if we can get this figured out.

Let's start by attempting to isolate the issue. To do this, are you able to bypass your router, and plug your console directly into your modem? This will let us know if the router is the culprit.

Also, if you could go ahead and test your connection speed at speedtest.net, and post back with the results, that would be awesome.

Let us know how that all goes, and we can go from there.

I'm having a very similar issue. This just started 3-4 days ago. No other devices on my network are affected, but sometimes as often as every 15 minutes my xbox will briefly lose connection to the network. By briefly I mean for like 10 seconds, then it automatically
reconnects. I've run the network speed and statistics test and all the numbers are fine, I've cleared the MAC address and that doesn't help. I've got no idea what to do.

For reference I've just run the test and got the following:

    61.49 down

    34.74 up

    0% packet loss

    1480 MTU

    61ms latency

    77% wireless strength

The connection is fine when it's connected, I don't have any lag or speed issues. It just briefly but frequently disconnects. None of my 5-6 friends who play xbox are having this issue by the way.

Hello! I'm guessing you're using a wireless connection?

It sounds like there is an issue with your bandwidth... First, you should troubleshoot your network connection speed by:

    1. Go to system settings

    2. Go to the General Settings

    3. Then go to Network Setting and click on "Test Network Speed & Statistics"

This will run a test and give you information about: Download speed, Upload speed, and Ping

(make sure to write down your test results for all 3)

The minimum download speed is: 3 Mbps

The minimum upload speed is: 0.5 Mbps

The minimum ping speed is: 150 milliseconds

If your test results are less than the minimum follow step 2 on this Xbox Support article:

    I hope this helped!
