    XBOX Series X input lag and latency


    I have read all the posts and tips all over the internet. I have yet to find a solution to fixing the issue of lag/latency. Occasionally, there is no issue (10% of the time). Xbox Series X does not seem competitive with PC or PS5 in the category of input lag and general latency. Graphic rendering seems slower. Terrible without VRR activated. Running 4k or 1440p in competitive FPS games is out of the question. Is there a solution? Is the Xbox Series not for competitive online play? Is there a plan in the future to improve in these areas? Input lag + ping > 50ms = unpleasant experience. 35ms to 45ms seems to be the best spot but only marginally.

    Hey,

    I have the same problem.. the XSX feels like it’s processing a second slower than what’s going on around in competitive games. I feel like display lag is my next option to look into. Have you found any thing to help? Do you play on monitor or tv? Like you said. Not what I paid for. It’s like Xbox is a entertainment system not a gaming system. Bummed out.

    I have an LG OLED EVO G1 series TV, LG claims the response time in the game mode is 10ms.

    I also have a PS5 both are connected directly to the TV.

    The Xbox series X input lag is noticeable when compared to the PS5.



    I don’t know if this is still true but Xbox used to have a feature called input lag compensation which basically penalizes you for having a good connection. That may be okay in an Xbox only lobby, but in a cross play forget it.

    There has never been such a feature on Xbox. You may be referring to audio delay that is used for movies to compensate for processing lag in a receiver

    This is not, nor has it ever been intended for game latency, regardless of its cause
