    Xbox Series X headset sound crackling


    Good day,

    When I use my series x or elite 1 controller with my wired headset plugged into the controller, I get very bad sound quality output (lots of breakage/crackling). When I plug my controller directly into the console via usb the sound breaking/crackling is non-existant.

    Both controllers are updated, I have changed out batteries, I have done the console hard reset etc.

    It only started recently and I see many other xbox users are experiencing the same issue.

    Is this fixable or what because I am seriously considering (like many others) switching to PS as it is super irritating playing like this. Can't here my friends speak due to this and can also not enjoy the sound quality of my headphones ��

    Steelseries Arctis 9X - Mic not working on Xbox Series X

    It's a strange issue as the SS9x usually either has intermittent sound issues (crackling, interference etc) or simply won't pair. I can't find any mention of no mic with the Series X.

    It should work fine as the 9x is compatible with the SX.

    Might be worth dropping SS a line to see if they have any ideas:

    I have the Hyper X revolver and sometimes get a static noise if I move the connection too much that connects to the controller. It may either be a similar case for you or perhaps a faulty connection.

    Is this a wireless headset? If the firmware update does not work it could be interference, maybe you are to close to your modem?

    this happened with someone I know and after all the troubleshooting it turned out to be interference from the modem or router.

    Hopefully thru some updates and troubleshooting you are able to get this fixed and back to gaming, Good Luck.
