    Xbox Series X HDR Calibration Issues


    I have my series x connected to a projector and the image is very dark. I've tried adjusting the HDR and other video settings (on the console and projector) but nothing solves the issue. I have a 4k Blu ray player that allows me to adjust the tone curve and dynamic range, and the image looks amazing on that. I know the settings aren't there now. Is there a way to submit a feature request? We should have an advance video options mode to adjust these settings. Things like HDR are very dependent on the displays capabilities. The ability to adjust manually is critical. The existing configuration mode is too basic.

    Thx for reply, i will try a few things, i have since read, to turn on HGIG on my LG CX TV, then do the hdr calibration on the xbox series x.

    Yes it's the original hdmi cable for the xbox series x. I have tried hard resetting my tv and restoring my xbox to original settings without losing my games But still the same issue. I'm not sure but can shutting off the xbox completely while on the HDR calibration app cause this issue?

    Check your TV settings: If you are using a TV to watch content on your Xbox Series X, check your TV settings to make sure that any power-saving modes are turned off. Also, make sure that the HDMI input you are using to connect your Xbox is set to a mode that allows for HDR and 4K content, if applicable.

    Reset the display settings: You can try resetting the display settings on your Xbox Series X console. To do this, go to Settings > General > TV & display options > Video modes > Allow 4K > Allow HDR. Make sure that both of these options are turned on. Then, go to Advanced video settings > Video fidelity & overscan > Display > Calibrate HDR for games. Follow the on-screen instructions to calibrate your display.

    I had the same / similar issue with my old 4K 60hz none HDR / HDMI 2.0 monitor when watching movies and some times in games with the Series X,

    As soon as i upgraded my monitor to a 4K 144hz monitor that has HDR / HDMI 2.1 ports, i no longer had this problem,

    I'm not sure what the problem is, but my guess is that the HDMI 2.1 port on Series X doesn't play well with HDMI 2.0 port of monitors, or it's the Series X trying to force HDR on, even if the monitor does not have / support HDR and the HDR in Series X menu's is turned off.

    Thank you for your answer, but I think you did not understand my question. To sum up: 4k doesn't matter.

    The problem is that hdr blu-rays work fine on ps5 (good colors).

    So the HDR to SDR conversion is correct. But on xbox series x, in comparison with ps5, the picture is too dark.

    So the HDR to SDR conversion on the xbox series x is bugged. I don't think it's a washout color issue.
