Xbox Series X HDMI-CEC NOT controlling UI

My Sony TV, has HDMI-CEC like every modern TV, and I have it ENABLED on my Xbox Series X, my TV, my AVR, and it WORKS PERFECTLY on my PS4, my Raspberry pi 2 and 3, but NOT on my Xbox Series X, when I try to control the UI with the buttons, NOTHING happens.

Is this a known issue or something with only MY TV?

It doesn't make any sense for it NOT to work.

I'm using the HDMI cable that shipped with the Series X.

When I first tried to turn on the HDMI-CEC option the machine kind of fought it, it rebooted the first time and DID NOT toggle it, but the 2nd time the settings stayed CHECKED.

    I appreciate any help.

ALSO, I have my TV set to AUTO scene mode which on my PS3, PS4, Pi 2 AND 3, automatically changes the scene according to the content ie for GAMES it changes it to GAME MODE for movies it changes it to 24p mode. This is ALSO not working on my Series X.

Is there a quick way to RESET the HDMI or FORCE the Series X to read my TV's EDID correctly? I've never had this issue with anything else ever.

When I go into my TV's menu it recognizes the Xbox as an XBOX and SOMETIMES turns it ON sometimes I just get an "ACCESSING PLEASE WAIT" message when I select my Series X to turn it on and NOTHING happens. It will ALWAYS turn if OFF along with my AVR correctly.

It's the AUTO SCENE mode and UI not reacting to button presses that are the issue.

HDMI - CEC Xbox series X

No, thanks though if I ever need it in the future then I’ll give it a reset then but for now it’s just a minor inconvenience. Thanks for your time though:)

HDMI - CEC Xbox series X

I’ve tried a couple of HDMI cables and I have no idea what’s going on 😂.

With CEC on audio starts cracking really badly. I’m just going to leave CEC off for now. Thanks for the help though

I can turn HDMI CEC on, however it doesn’t work anymore. I’m assuming that the brand selector got replaced with some automatic detector but it has not worked and I can’t manually change it. I’ll be sure to check out all troubleshooting steps though, thanks.

HDMI - CEC Xbox series X

Sorry to hear about that, Alex. If there's an issue with the system, we could try to perform a factory reset on your console to refresh your whole system. There's an option to keep your games and apps if you're ready to do it.
