Xbox series x having to reset

Has anyone else been having an issue with their Series X when they turn it on and you don’t get your normal welcome screen? It acts as if it has no internet connection (mine is hard wired) and I’ll go to test connection it will say “everything is all good” but no apps will run. I will have to do a hard reset for it to work again. Just wondering if anyone has had a similar issue and what they’ve done if anything. I just worry about it being a precursor to a larger issue. Thanks!

    :)

Xbox Series X Major Lag Issues

Hi there. I have tried almost every possible method of restarting, resetting and everything inbetween. Ports are forwarded, etc.

The thing is, I have my Xbox One and Series X set up beside each other. Due to the Series X’s problems, I can switch off my Series X, and switch on my Xbox One, and have no connection issues.

Both playing on the same wifi, both wireless connection, with all the same settings (except the Series X is running on 120fps).

Something is not right with the Series X and I believe it’s more than just needing to reset my MAC address...

Xbox series x having to reset

Hi! My name is Pam. I'm an Independent Advisor and I'll be glad to help you today.

I'm sorry to hear that. I experienced the same recently. Here are the steps that you can try for your concern.

Solution 1. Do you have an external hard drive plugged into the console right now?

If yes, can you unplug it and Please Turn off the console > (press and hold the power button for 10 seconds) unplug everything from the console > wait for 2 minutes and plug everything back > Turn On the console.

Once done, please check if the issue persist while the external hard drive is unplugged.

Solution 2. I know your internet is working fine with other devices but for us to best isolate the issue, can you try connecting the console to a different network? A mobile hotspot for example?

Solution 3. Try to do a soft factory reset without removing any games and apps.

Press the Xbox button to open the guide.

Select Settings > System > Console info > reset then keep my games and apps.

NOTE: This will delete the profiles on your account, make sure that you remember the email and password to your account.

I hope this helps. Feel free to ask back any questions and keep me posted.

Making my Home Xbox not working.

I have this exact issue. His is my setup:

My son has a One S

    I have a Series X

I was able to set the One S as my home xbox

I added his account to the Series X. Went to setting and then to my home xbox. At first, it is checked, then I get the circle, and the check mark is removed. Click on make this my home xbox on the Series X using his account, the circle spins, and then back to the "unchecked" box.

Checking his (One S), my account still has that xbox as my home xbox.

Reset networking, reset MAC address, flushed ARP cache on my switch and router, restarted all of those devices, and reset the Series X (both hard power cycle and factory reset). No luck.

Is it due to his account technically being a Xbox One profile and mine a Series X?

Also, my son's account is a child account but, unrestricted.

How to fix my series x Accounts

    Hello Nathan Ror,

Thank you for your contribution to the Microsoft community.

If you have factory reset your Xbox One, it will also reset your Xbox Series X. To fix this, you will need to sign in to your Xbox account on your Series X.

Here are the steps to sign into your Xbox account on your Series X:

    1. Turn on your Xbox Series X.

    2. On the sign-in screen, select "Add new".

    3. Enter your Microsoft account email address and password.

    4. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the sign-in process.

Once you have signed into your Xbox account, you should be able to access your games and other content that you had on your Xbox One.

Hope I helped! Please do not hesitate to ask if you have further concerns.
