Xbox Series X factory reset after power outage

I have had this once. Just like you, turned out everything was intact after doing the set up. Not sure why it happened though.

I would suggest just going with the Reset and keep my games & apps as it will reset the OS and delete all potentially corrupted data without deleting your games or apps. The OSU won't delete your games & apps as well but since there's no updates available on your console, it not necessary to preform it. However, if case you face the start up screen again, you can go with the OSU.

the cause might be that the console needs an update. However if you are still on the start up screen, I'd suggest preforming a soft reset by selecting Reset and keep my games & apps. This will refresh the OS of your console. But if the console displays the same screen after the reset, then the next option you will have to try is Offline System Update. To get the Offline System update option working you will need to follow the steps in this support article for Xbox One Offline System Update. You will also need a USB Flash Drive with 6GB or more of storage in it and you will need to format it for NTFS which if you do not know how to do, you can follow the steps provided here.

I am no longer in the setup screen as I already completed it. Seems ok now.

I just checked and there are no updates.

Should I do anyway a "Reset and keep my games & apps" or OSU just to make sure that nothing is corrupted?

Which one is better.

Also, if I do OSU, will the games and apps be preserved?
