    Xbox Series X doesn't support 1440p@120Hz with 1440p@144Hz monitor

I have Xiaomi Mi Curved 34 monitor, which supports 1440p@144Hz through DisplayPort.

This monitors does display my Dell XPS 15 9500 laptop at 1440p@120Hz.

I've owned 2 HDMI 2.0 to DisplayPort adapters (both stated to be VESA compliant) in order to enable my Xbox Series X to support 1440p@120Hz with this monitor:

Both adapters don't enable my Xbox Series X to be configured at 1440p@120Hz in display settings.

I've tried to configure video fidelity & overscan to override HDMI with color depth of 8bit. I've also disabled 4k. But still my Xbox is limited to 1440p@60Hz or 1080p@120Hz.

If the above adapters does support HDMI 2.0 / DisplayPort 1.2/1.4 with VESA timings as stated, and the monitor does support 1440@144Hz - why the Xbox cannot support 1440p@120Hz at this setup?

It's really disappointing... If you don't include a DisplayPort input with the Xbox, at least enable some advanced mode to "force" 120Hz so people which know what they're doing could benefit the max performance out of their Xbox.

Or at least try to support broad varieties of monitors if you're trying to forcefully "protect" your users from harmful configuration...

    :)
