I have tested with setting up a hotspot from my phone and connected my laptop (surface pro 8) and xbox to the same hotspot. Unfortunately xbox losses connectivity as soon as laptop connects to the same wifi network.

Thanks for pointing in this direction, (there was IP address conflict , surface was taking the same ip as xbox )looking into the issue i found that MAC address for both the device was same which is really strange but that was the issue.

On resetting the mac address on my xbox now both the devices are connected to the same wifi network.

Thank you for the response. So far this is the first time that I encountered this type of issue. It is weird because it only choses to kick the Xbox Console.

One thing I can think of that if these devices shares the same IP address then that could be the reason. Try to manually assign an IP address for both devices and make sure that they do not have the same final octet.

For Xbox

1. Open System > Settings.
   
2. Select Network > Network settings.
   
3. Select Advanced settings.
   

For Surface

1. Open Network and Internet from settings
   
2. Choose Either Wifi or Ethernet depending on what you are using
   
3. Click the network then Click Edit under IP assignment
   
4. Change it to manual
   
5. Make sure to fill out all that is needed

We’d like to know more about it in details so that we can provide a more accurate resolution for you.

• When did the issue started?
  
• Have you set a maximum limit for devices connected to your router?
  
• When you say it disconnects from the internet, does it lose the Wi-fi signal as well? Or just the internet connection disables?
  

If both devices are able to connect to the network and does get internet access, this means that both devices network card should be working fine.

If one device gets kicked off the network when another device is connecting, this concludes that it could be with the configuration of your router, modem or access points that is causing the issue.

There is a work around that we can do is by setting up a Wi-fi hotspot using your mobile phone, and have both devices connect at the same time. If both connects and doesn't kick each other, most likely this is something to do with the previously mentioned Wi-fi sources.
