Xbox Series X Disc game wants a Gamepass Abo to Start?

Hello,

today i was for the second time affected by a strange message , when i've tried to Start an Xbox Series X game from Disc.

It's Gears 5. i've buyed this game two weeks ago but have played the game on my PC 2020, when i've used an Gamepass. I can use all my Saves and Progress from Last year, which is perfectly great.

Most times the Game starts well from Disc. But sometimes it doesn't want to start, because my console tell me "You need an Gamepass to play, please check your Abo status". (0x803f800e)

Only turning the Xbox completely off does Fix it for a while, but the Failure returns after time.

But why is that so? Is there something i can do to avoid this Failure?

I think the issue may be connected to the Gamepass, which i've used last year. I just want to play from Disc without trouble.

Is there any option where i can deactivate the digital signature from the past, maybe?

This Failure keeps me hardly from activating the Gamepass again, because i don't want to have trouble with any other Games i'm playing first on Gamepass.

All games i've never played with a Gamepass are starting perfect.

Thank you. I've used anything as suggested. Sadly, the issue does still affect me.

It's the same issue with any Disc-Game, when i start the Xbox first time on the Day. (my Box gets disconnected from power over night) After the First Start i can start Digital Games without trouble, but starting any Disc will cause the "There is no Disc inside" Message. I even can pull the Disc out, change it to another Disc - the Disc will not be found by the Xbox.

Only Restarting the Xbox solve the Problem. It means, i have to make a Restart every day after the first start of the console. It would be great to fix this. The Box is starting very fast, but it's an unnessesary delay.

Ok, i've found out what was the problem.

If you "Turn Off" your Xbox by Pressing Xbox Button and take it afterwards from your power supply, the Disc-Bug will affect the Console with the next Start.

To avoid this, you have to shutdown the Xbox from Power Settings and chose "Full Shutdown".

I never realised before that "Turn Off" is not the same as "Full Shutdown".

Maybe it would be a great enhancement, if "Full Shutdown" becomes avaiable on the Xbox Quick Menu.

Regarding your issue, I suggest that you follow the steps provided below in order to resolve it:

The first step that you can try to resolve the issue, would be to remove and re-add your account. In order to do that please go to: settings> account> remove accounts> remove your account.

If this does not resolve your issue please follow the next steps:

1- Go to settings

2- Select devices and connections

3- Select Blu-ray

4- Choose persistent storage and clear it

If the issue still persists after going through the troubleshooting steps mentioned, I invite you to perform a quick power cycle by turning off the console and then unplugging all the cables. After 10-15 seconds plug all your cables back in and then restart your console.

What does your disc say exactly?

Usually, this happens if you have an Xbox One disc but you are installing the Series X|S copy vis gamepass or similar.

You cannot transfer purchased game discs to the Xbox Series S. If you own an Xbox Series S and want to play games that you own on disc, you'll need to purchase them again from the Microsoft Store. If you plan on playing disc games, you may want to get the Xbox Series X instead of the Xbox Series S, as it has a drive.
