    Xbox series X crashes while playing 2k21


    Im having an issue with my xbox series X and the next gen version of NBA 2k21. I’m trying to determine if it’s an issue with the game or the console itself.

    While playing mycareer and everything will be running fine until out of no where, the xbox will just crash. A green screen will flash and the console will turn off. The controller will still be on and flashing.

    This will sometimes happen multiple times in a night, one time a night or not at all.

    The console is plugged directly into the wall and is in a well ventilated area. I have tried both the horizontal and vertical orientation of the console... although I dont think this should matter as the console is designed to be either way.

    I havent had issues with other games, AC Valhalla, COD MW, Tony Hawk 1&2 so I’m leaning towards the game being the issue, but the fact that the entire console will shut down instead of just a game crash is alarming.

    i don't play nba i play halo. I ask question what's wrong with it ?
    A lot of people playing on the Series S and X are having issues with the game frequently crashing to dashboard and, sometimes, even causing the console to switch itself off. The same happened with the next gen version of 2k21

    Sorry but 2k has not announced cross-play for the game.

    Since you have to pay for the game separately on both consoles I doubt they will have Xbox One and Xbox Series X crossplay.

    Before someone says If you buy NBA 2K21 Mamba Forever Edition you get the Xbox Series X version. Yes, that edition bundles both the Xbox One version and the Xbox Series X version but is not a free upgrade or the same game.

    Thanks for posting on the Xbox forums. We understand that you are interested in learning if you can play NBA 2K21 with your friend that plays on an Xbox One X while you play on the Xbox One S. Xbox One games can be played on the
    original Xbox One, Xbox One S and Xbox one X. This means you will be able to play with you friend. We hope this information helps

    Yea I read somewhere it has to do with how the game is optimized or not for the new consoles. If it’s a X/S optimized game it may occur. Most likely a memory leak with certain games happening. No idea for sure though.

    Man that’s lucky it only happens in 2k and I can’t even finish a game in the park without my console turning off
