Xbox Series X controller won't stay on unless plugged into PC

I recently bought an Xbox Series X controller and found that it simply will not stay on unless it's plugged into a power source. I've tried replacing the batteries and updating the drivers through the Xbox accessories app but nothing seems to work. I'm using an Acer Nitro V15 with everything up to date so I'm not sure what the issue is.

you did everything that could solve such an issue.

So it very much looks like you have to bring it back to the store with the receipt and exchange it for a new one.

If your controller is fully updated but still won´t power on without a cable then it sadly needs to be replaced or serviced.

Or you can still use it if you do not mind using a cable

It appears that the Xbox controllers can't be connected wirelessly to your Xbox Console. Let us check and see on what we can do to help resolve your concern in a timely manner.

We would like to ask few questions to help us isolate the issue further.

1. With the three Xbox Controllers, are all these controllers are Xbox Wireless controllers or of different type?

2. Are those controllers not connected wirelessly to Xbox console since the first time it was used to connect to your Xbox Console?

For the meantime, here are the ways to connect your Xbox Controllers wirelessly:

Connect the Xbox Controllers wirelessly using Xbox app accessories.
Connect the Xbox Controllers using the pair button.

Xbox One, Xbox One S, and Xbox One X controllers work on Xbox Series X|S, and vice versa. However, Xbox 360 is on it's own, similar to the OG Xbox.

What's cool however is if you remote stream Xbox One, One S, One X, Series S, or Series X on, say, a PC, you can plug in a 360 controller and use it on the newer generation.

But no, newer controllers aren't supported on 360.
