Xbox Series X controller not working properly with Turtle Beach audio

    Hi,

I haven't been able to find any answer to this online so I thought I would try here. I've been playing my new Xbox series X and it's been great. I have run into an issue with the controller, the one included in the box. I have a Turtle Beach Elite Pro 2
headset that I use along with the adapter that plugs into the controller. Everything was working fine until yesterday and then I started having issues with the chat volume. I believe this is either a software issue or something to do with the controller itself.
My old controller does not have the same issue. The headset adapter has a button on the left to adjust game audio and chat audio levels and a button on the right that adjusts the master volume (chat and game combined). For some reason when I am using the new
controller that came with the series X I can no longer adjust chat and game volume on the left side. So what I am dealing with is low voice chat that won't seem to adjust. When I turn the master volume up on the right side it works but since I cannot adjust
the chat to game volume ratio on the left the voice audio is drowned out by the game volume. Wondering if anyone else is experiencing the same issue or has a fix? Game settings do not seem to make a difference. The problem appears to be with the new controller.

    :)

I want an audio and mic solution for original xbox one

Guess it depends what region they are in as to whether their Amazon variant sells it...the UK Amazon site has the Turtle Beach audio adapter for sale...I found it to be an excellent product. However, if the OP has plans to then get a Series X or S, they may want to avoid it as the Turtle Beach adapter doesn't work properly on the new controllers (no party/game mix functionality)...the OG adapter does works but is not easy to find given it's no longer produced (I got a brand new one recently on eBay)

Xbox Series X controller not working properly with Turtle Beach audio

I'm having the same issue with my hyperX headset. Was working fine on initial set up. Was in a party with buddies, walked away so I turned controller off to save batteries. Came back turned controller on and audio on my left side is very low and muffled
unless I turn volume though the xbox up very high, then it works fine. Old controller also works fine with no issues and same headset. Hoping it's a software issue being that it works fine on a high volume?

I still havent found a fix. The onyl thing that seems to help sometimes is if I adjust settings on my old controller and then plug into the new one.

Party/game audio mixer greyed out Xbox series x

Hello Bex V, My name is Khaji I am the independent advisor and I will be happy to help you today.

If the audio mixer settings on your Xbox Series X are greyed out, and you're unable to adjust the game audio volume while using your Turtle Beach Stealth 600 Gen 2 headset, here are a few steps you can try to troubleshoot the issue:

    1. Ensure that your Turtle Beach headset is running the latest firmware version. Visit Turtle Beach's official website and download any available firmware updates specifically designed for your headset model. Follow the provided instructions to update the firmware.

    2. Confirm that your Turtle Beach Stealth 600 Gen 2 headset is fully compatible with the Xbox Series X. While the headset may have worked fine with your previous Xbox One S, it's essential to verify its compatibility with the newer console. Check Turtle Beach's website or contact their support to confirm compatibility.

    3. Perform a full power cycle of your Xbox Series X. To do this, hold down the power button on the front of the console for about 10 seconds until it fully shuts down. Afterward, unplug the power cord from the back of the console, wait for a few minutes, then reconnect the power cord and turn on the Xbox again. This can help clear any temporary software glitches.

    4. On your Xbox Series X, go to the Settings menu. Navigate to "General" > "Volume & audio output." Check the audio settings and ensure that the correct audio output device (your Turtle Beach headset) is selected. Make any necessary adjustments to the audio settings, such as enabling or disabling features like Windows Sonic or Dolby Atmos.

    5. In the Xbox settings, go to "General" > "Volume & audio output" > "Headset audio." From there, select "Reset headset audio options" to reset the audio settings specific to your headset. This can help resolve any conflicting settings that may be causing the issue.

    6. If you're using a wireless Xbox controller with your headset, make sure it has the latest firmware version. Connect the controller to your Xbox Series X using a USB cable and follow the on-screen prompts to update the controller's firmware.

    7. If possible, test your Xbox Series X with a different headset to see if the issue persists. This can help determine if the problem lies with the headset or the console itself. If the audio mixer settings work fine with another headset, it suggests an issue with your Turtle Beach headset.

Thank you very much for your patience and understanding! If you need anything else, do not hesitate to contact us again.
