Xbox Series X controller drains batteries fast issue

Considering that the controller seems to drain batteries fast anyway, I just went to the charge and play option. It's easier to plug the controller in rather then opening the compartment to install a new set of batteries when you are in the middle of
a game.

Curt, the wear and tear of the charge of a battery is very rarely related to the device, in this case the controller, alkaline batteries can have variations due to the quality of the batteries, the temperature in which the device is used and even the vibration configuration of the controller. In the case of rechargeable batteries, the reality is that after a certain number of charge and discharge cycles, these batteries lose efficiency until they simply last minutes with a supposed full charge.

Only if you notice that your controller is heating up in the battery area would it already be the indication of a problem with it.

But then if it;s the wrong battery pack, it shoudn't work with either controller ...the fact it works in one but not the other points to an issue with the second controller

The Xbox One Venom battery pack won't even fit in the Series X controller (or at least not without trimming bits off it)..as the OP can fit the pack with no issue, it suggests it's the right battery pack. Unless Venom have released more than one battery pack for the Series X?

Sorry to hear you are running into these issues with the Batteries.

If you have only used these 2 controllers and they keep draining faster than usual, It could be that the controllers themselves are the issue. I would suggest using a different controller to see if the battery issue is the same or if it improves your battery
life.

Another suggestion would be to use the Xbox 360 Play & Charge Kit, Here is a

Not rechargeable batteries I assume?

Are you able to test the "used" batteries in something else to see if they actually are drained?
