Xbox Series X controller disconnecting randomly during gameplay

Next is to do a hard restart. Please hold the power button for about 10 seconds until it turns off completely, then turn it back on.

Then reset and re-sync. Press and hold the Xbox button on your controller for about 6 seconds to turn it off, then turn it back on. Press the Pair button on both the console and the controller to re-sync them wirelessly.

Kindly check range. Please make sure you're within the optimal range of the console (usually within 20-30 feet). And there should be no obstructions between you and the console2.

Please check for Wireless Interference. Make sure that there are no other wireless devices nearby that might be causing interference. Move any other wireless devices away from your console or turn them off.

And then power Cycle Your Console and Controllers. To do this please unplug your console and controllers from their power source, wait for a minute or two, and then plug them back in.

Make sure your controller's firmware is up-to-date. Connect your controller to the Xbox with a USB cable, go to Settings > Devices & connections > Accessories > Firmware version > Update now.
