Xbox Series X Controller connected and synced via the Xbox Adapter but is not responding

I am using the Xbox accessories app to use my series X controller on my gaming PC via the windows Xbox wireless adapter.

My controller was working fine, and it has been for a few weeks.

Randomly out of nowhere the controller just stopped responding in the middle of game menu even though it was still turned on and synced.

The controller does not appear on the xbox accessories app but appears synced to the adapter.

I have tried literally everything at this point:

    - Re-synced the controller to the wireless adapter and still no response or recognition

-Checked the wireless adapter for problems, however my headset and other controllers connect and work completely fine with it

    - New batteries to the controller

    - Hard reset the controller and re-synced it again

    - Tried connecting the controller via a USB cable to the pc- still no response or recognition

    - Connected it back to my Series X, tried updating the controller. Re-synced it to the PC and still nothing being recognised.

    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Thanks!

    :)

Question about Xbox Elite 2 and wireless adapters on PC

The Xbox wireless adapter uses the proprietary wireless radio technology built in to the Xbox controllers rather than bluetooth, which is in theory a higher performance wireless standard. If you already have a bluetooth receiver in your PC, then you don't
need to purchase the adapter and can just sync the controller using bluetooth. Alternatively, you can connect the controller using the included USB C to USB A cable that comes with the Elite Series 2. Whether you use the bluetooth radio, or Xbox wireless adapter,
you can absolutely sync multiple controllers to your pc via a single receiver.

    Xbox - Surface earbuds

Unfortunately not, currently any headset needs to be connected using a cable in to the controller or via the xbox one stereo adapter which attaches to the controller.

I don't know yet whether or not they'll be able to be used with the Series X.

No, not necessarily. The Xbox One Wireless adapter has extra functionality, but for basic wireless use you can connect via Bluetooth. If your PC doesn't have Bluetooth a BT dongle can be purchased for less than $10/€7.

Note that the Xbox One controllers can also be connected via USB cable. The Xbox One uses a Micro USB cable, Series X controllers are USB C.

Xbox Series X Sync button/synced controller stopped. Sync button must work as I am able to get to BIOS. Sync button wont blink.

Thanks for the reply. Interesting, I did not know that it was "wirelessly" connected while connected to a USB C Data Cord. As soon as I unplug, it stays disconnected (in sync mode the controller also keeps blinking then turns off). If this is right I don't know why I also can't sync any of my other Xbox controllers to the series X unless connected with a cord (works on an One X controller also, stops when unplugged). I don't know why the sync button (blinking) stopped operating all together.

I replaced my batteries and tried to pull and place back in earlier with no luck. I also updated the controller as I set up as new.

The interesting thing is I am able to use the series X controller perfectly on PC wirelessly with windows 10/Xbox PC adapter. I have no problems on PC wireless.

The controller does not pair with the Xbox X Series

Hello Hyer, my name is Khaji I am the independent advisor and I will be happy to help you today.

Sorry to hear that you are having problems with your Xbox X Series. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the controller sync issue.

    - Try a wired connection: use a USB cable to connect your controller to the Xbox Series X and see if it connects. If it does, you can try syncing wirelessly.

    - Press and hold the sync button on the back of the controller for 15 seconds until the Xbox button starts to flash, then release the button. Turn off and unplug the Xbox X Series for a few minutes, then turn it back on and try to sync the controller again.

Update your controller firmware: If your controller firmware is not up to date, you may not be able to connect to the Xbox X Series. To check for updates, navigate to Settings > Devices and Accessories > Xbox Wireless Controller > Device Information and see if a firmware update is available.

    - Try a different HDMI cable or port: A faulty HDMI cable or port could be the cause of the Xbox home screen not displaying on the TV.

    - Check your TV settings: make sure the HDMI port to which the Xbox X Series is connected is set to the correct input on your TV.

    Best regards, Khaji
