    I don’t know much about consoles or anything to be quite frank and i don’t know if this noise is new or not but it’s been happening since yesterday whether im in a game or not on anything. The center of fan makes an electrical rumble or buzzing sound that can only be heard up close and my console has had a intermittent electrical rattle that can also be heard up close that starts out as a taser sound dies down a bit and stops after a minute then starts up again once another minute passes. The console is the new Xbox series x digital and has about 9 months warranty left on it. Are these noises just the console operating or is a component starting to fail due to not being put together properly.

    That's right, they reset it to factory values to perform the tests and isolate the fault

    ShinyNut, hearing a sound coming from the fan can be normal due to dust that can accumulate on the fan blades and become unbalanced creating noise. If, on the other hand, the noise is rubbing or electrical, unfortunately you may need a repair and you can do so by following this link if you have warranty

    I recommend that you do not send the console in the original box as that box will not be returned. Additionally, you only have to send the console, without cables or controllers or any other accessory .
