    Xbox Series X: Clip Audio issues


    Back in June I got a series X for my birthday and now I’m having this issue with my clips where when I capture them, there’s no audio. And when I try to look at them in the app there’s a sad face. I’ve searched online and haven’t found a permanent fix. One worked temporarily but it’s now doing it again. Any advice? I’m debating doing a factory reset but want to weigh my options before doing so.

    I would say there is an issue with the servers that service the Xbox Live clip service...I have been having the same issue on my Series X for the past month and others on here have also mentioned it

    I have almost the same problem except the error message says

    “if you’re using Xbox series X/S, note that HDMI audio can’t be turned off. In other consoles, either optical or HDMI audio must be on. (0x80bd0009)

    Why can’t I turn off hdmi audio on Xbox series x it makes no sense?

    Hi,

    Thanks for getting back to me. I have an iPhone and the instructions I think are for android? Also I don’t think it’s just an issue with the app, when I play the captures back on my Xbox the clips have no sound on there either
    The game clips of my friend who also owns an Series X do not have sound either (for a different game though).

    I suspect it has something to do with 4K resolution, HDR or both which was a issue in the past with the One X.

    Try lowering the resolution of your clips to 1080p or lower by opening the Xbox Guide (Xbox button on controller) > Capture & shares > Captures settings at the bottom and see if the problem still persists.

    You can also use the Report a problem app when you take a clip that does not have audio to help the Xbox devs to investigate this issue.
