Xbox series x changing tv picture mode

Hello, I am having trouble and wondering if other people are too, I have a Sony 4k Tv and when i start games like sea of thieves or Netflix on my series x, my screen briefly flashes with the No Signal screen as though i had unplugged the HDMI cord, then
changes my picture mode to something that is unreasonable like a very high saturation. Is this a hardware issue with my series x and should i inquire about a refund and a new console

    :)

Black stripe artifact diagonal on my TV screen (blinking in an interval) what could it be?

Hi, Dreamcatched93! Thank you for reaching out.
I'm AJ, an Independent Advisor for the Xbox Community.
I'm sorry to hear you are experiencing issues with your Series X console.

Because your TV and HDMI cable work perfectly with your Series S, I'd say it's very likely this is a hardware-related problem with your Series X.

    ---

    • Is your Series X plugged into an HDMI hub/splitter?

    • To clarify, are there any video settings, either on your TV or the console itself, that are not enabled when you use the Series S?

    - On your console I'd suggest checking Settings > General > TV & display options > Video modes. As other settings normally

    - On your TV, check for "Special viewing modes" "Picture mode" or something similar.

If everything's the same as when you use your Series S, I'm afraid my best advice would be to use your console's warranty.

I'll be looking forward to your reply.
    Best regards.

My picture flashes in and out

Have you tried changing the picture setting and resolution settings on both your tv and xbox too match a different output mode?

Xbox series X and LG 80 Series Settings

Hello Guilherme P, My name is Vanessa, an independent advisor, and I'm here to guide you on your case.

In general, the best settings for the Xbox Series X and the LG 80 Series for 4K UHD at 120Hz are as follows:

    On the Xbox Series X:

    Display mode: "Fullscreen"
    Resolution: "4K"
    Refresh rate: "120Hz"
    HDR: "On"
    AMD Freesync: "On"
    ALLM: "On"
    On the LG 80 Series:

    Picture mode: "Game Optimizer"
    AMD Freesync Premium: "On"
    ALLM: "On"
    Do they overlap?

Yes, some of these settings overlap. For example, the "Fullscreen" display mode and the "Game Optimizer" picture mode have the same effect on the Xbox Series X. In this case, it is best to choose the setting that offers more features or customization options.

Is it better to have only one selected at a time?

No, it is not necessary to have only one setting selected at a time. In fact, in some cases, it is better to have multiple settings selected to get the best performance and image quality. For example, the "Game Optimizer" picture mode on the LG 80 Series automatically enables AMD Freesync Premium and ALLM.

Which ones are better for 4K UHD @ 120Hz?

The above settings are the best for 4K UHD at 120Hz. These settings will allow you to enjoy games at the highest possible resolution and refresh rate.

Should I use the Game Optimizer on my TV?

Yes, you should use the Game Optimizer on your TV. This setting optimizes the image for gaming and automatically enables AMD Freesync Premium and ALLM.

Should I choose High or Wide in AMD Freesync Premium?

It depends on your preferences. The "High" mode offers a wider refresh rate range, but it can cause more screen tearing. The "Wide" mode offers a narrower refresh rate range, but it can reduce screen tearing.

    What is ALLM?

ALLM (Auto Low Latency Mode) is a feature that allows your TV to automatically switch to a low-latency gaming mode when you connect a gaming console. You must have ALLM enabled on both your TV and your Xbox Series X for this feature to work.

Are all settings required to be the same on the TV AND the Xbox?

No, it is not necessary for all settings to be the same on the TV and the Xbox. However, it is best for the basic settings, such as resolution and refresh rate, to be the same for everything to work properly.

What happens if I play another game that doesn't support 120Hz?

If you play another game that doesn't support 120Hz, your Xbox Series X will automatically switch the resolution and refresh rate to the settings recommended by the game. You won't have to change any settings manually.

Is there any way to check what my FPS is at any given time?

Yes, there are several ways to check what your FPS is at any given time. One way is to use the Xbox app on your smartphone or tablet. Open the app, select your Xbox Series X, and select "Game Information." In the "Screen" section, you will see the current refresh rate of the game.

Another way to check your FPS is to use a third-party tool, such as the OSDBuddy program. OSDBuddy allows you to show the current refresh rate of the game on the screen.

Does that mean I'm at a constant 119.8 without any fluctuations?

No, it is possible that there will be fluctuations in the refresh rate. This is normal, as the refresh rate of games can vary depending on the system load.

I hope this information is helpful.

If you have any further questions or need additional assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us. We are here to help.

    Best regards,
    Vanessa.

Is the Xbox Series X giving me a headache?

I have my Xbox One and my Series X plugged into the same TV and I notice vast differences in the quality but also the brightness of the picture - I eventually found that I also had different picture settings on the different HDMI inputs.
