Xbox Series X capture does not record my voice (Sept 2023)

I am trying to record clips of Starfield with my voice commentary being recorded but it does not appear to work. The video is recording fine, the in-game audio is recording fine, but my voice is not recording at all for some reason. I read up on everything I could online and took the following steps:

- I lowered recording quality to 720p, no change

- I tried recording while in Xbox party and while not in xbox party, no change

- I made sure to set chat output to "Headset & Speakers", no change

- Changed audio format to stereo uncompressed, no change

- Run the Audio setup tool, no change

I have not seen any solutions to this. A lot of people online reference menu options that clearly were available on older console models but are no longer there on Series X. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thank you!

That is super disappointing

I unfortunately do not own a PC, which would have done wonders for my streaming and recording. perhaps one day.

The Xbox Series S uses the same system as the Xbox Series X, but, voice recording in video capture is not an enabled feature due to privacy concerns.

When I record a game clip on the Xbox One X my voice is not recorded even though all my mic settings are set to on. I'm totally confounded as to why this is so, since my mic is working with other apps and game chat. Supposedly this feature is built into
the Xbox One X capture system.
