Xbox series X cables not plugging in fully

    Hi

Hi, Ive just purchased an Xbox series X and I’ve noticed that both the HDMI and USB cables don’t fully plug in. They stick out about 3-4mm so you can still see the inner metal part. Is this normal as they don’t seam very secure?

    Thanks

    :)

Xbox series X cables not plugging in fully

    Hi Jon
Yes, it's normal to have this distance. Don't worry

And nope, you should not experience issues for this in the future if you disconnect the cables when necessary in the correct way (pulling the cable directly from the port)

Hi , thanks for replying to my post, it’s much appreciated.

It looks like yours is the same as mine, so I’m not the only one. Because it’s not in fully it feels a bit wobbly and pulls out easily so wasn’t sure if this could cause problems over time.

    I’ve attached a pic.

    Thanks

    Jon

Hi and thanks for reaching Microsoft Xbox gamer's community. My name is Josef.
I'm an Independent Advisor and a Microsoft Xbox user like you.

Hope you're doing great today Jonbrook

Can you share a picture of this?
I ask this because, yes. The cables doesn't need to be fully plugged in (it's more usual to see this with the HDMI cable)

Check this picture of my console

If you notice, there is an space between the connector and the cable.

    It's completely normal

    Xbox series x hdmi cable

    Hi,

You don't need a new TV to use an Xbox Series X. The HDMI cable that comes with the Series X is indeed designed for high bandwidth HDMI ports, but it's fully backwards compatible with HDMI 2.0 connectors.

Just plug it in and run through the setup. If you buy a HDMI 2.1 supported TV or gaming monitor later you'll be all set to use the advanced features.

How do I set up cable on my Series X?

Its not an option to have tv going through the xbox series x. Cable needs to be plugged in a different hdmi port.
