  1. Xbox series X - AUDIO - USB vs 3.5mm headphones - Quality & Latency

    Hello,

I wonder what will have the best sound quality and less latency:
Option 1. Connect wired headphone into the Xbox series x controller (3.5mm)
Option 2. Connect wired headphone into the usb port @ backside Xbox series x

    Greetings,

    Noël

    :)

Oke but that doesnt answer my question.
Will the audio quality and latency be the same when using a wired headset (console) usb or 3.5mm?

9/10 going direct into any hardware seems better for audio quality and latency. When going 3.5mm into the controller the xbox has to send sound into the controller and then transfer it to the headphones. That made me wonder if there is a difference between the 3.5mm connect or usb at the back? Maybe it is not notable at all.

I understand you about the xbox license.

I rather not want to have a wireless headset because I dont like charging and the battery life will decrease over time. So that leave me with two options:
    1. Wired, 3.5mm into the Xbox series x controller
    2. Wired, usb, into the Xbox series X

I checked the microsoft store and there are only 2 compatible series X headsets. Both wireles.

Do you know any wired Xbox series X headset? That is compatible with the series x? I prefer USB but have to go 3.5mm otherwise.

You cant use usb headsets on consoles as I mentiomed BEFORE.only ones that are made for xbox

Those ones dont have latency as they are either wired 3.5 or wirlesss either thru xbox Sonic like turtle beaches recon 70 gen2 or usb bluetooth adapter (licensed products only) like astros

Usb headsets requires drivers which unless they are made to be compatible with your console wont access the drivers built in

    Made for xbox headsets

    Usb only headsets requires drivers

Any console you must buy one made for the said console.or 3.5jmm jack headsets

    I use turtle.beaches

If I buy the 3.5mm to USB adapter and a USB hub will my audio quality suffer?

I previously had an adapter that I plugged into my Xbox controller and I plugged my headset into that.

When I plugged the headset straight into my controller the audio wasn't nearly as clear, and I couldn't adjust game volume vs. voice volume.
