    Xbox series x audio problem

Hi, I'm a bit lost and I'm going to ask if anyone knows what could be causing the problem that is happening to me. I mean, when I start any game and for about the first 30 seconds the sound cuts out intermittently. I have it in dolby atmos but the same thing happens if I change it. After that time it seems to be solved.

I have the x series connected to a Philips 65OLED806/12 tv and the audio via earc to a sony sa-z9r bar. If anyone can give me a clue as to what it could be, I'd really appreciate it.

    Greetings

    :)

Xbox Series X - I can no longer turn off hdmi audio since installing the september update

I have almost the same problem except the error message says

“if you’re using Xbox series X/S, note that HDMI audio can’t be turned off. In other consoles, either optical or HDMI audio must be on. (0x80bd0009)

Why can’t I turn off hdmi audio on Xbox series x it makes no sense?

no sound in xbox 360 clips

Hello Manuel,my name is Vanessa, I will be happy to help you.

There are a couple of things you can try to fix this problem:

Update your Xbox Series X software.

Microsoft releases software updates frequently to fix problems and add new features.

To check if updates are available, follow these steps:

Press the Xbox  button on your controller.
    Select Profile & system > Settings > System > Updates & downloads.

If updates are available, they will be displayed on the screen.

Select Download and install to install the updates.

Check the audio settings on your Xbox Series X.

Make sure audio is enabled and the audio format is compatible with the 360 game.

To verify your audio settings, follow these steps:

Press the Xbox  button on your controller.

Select Profile & system > Settings > Sound.
Make sure the "Audio" option is enabled.
If the audio format is set to "Automatic", change it to "Stereo" or "Dolby Digital".

Restart your Xbox Series X. Sometimes a simple restart can fix minor issues. To reset your Xbox Series X, follow these steps:

Press and hold the power button for 10 seconds.

When the console turns off, wait a few seconds and then turn it back on.

    Sincerely,
    Vanessa.

Xbox Series X audio broken for everything except stereo

    Hello AbeAustin,

Thank you for posting in the Microsoft Community.

I'm sorry to hear that you are experiencing audio issues with your Xbox Series X and your Onkyo TX-NR6050 receiver. This sounds like a frustrating problem, and I will do my best to help you resolve it.

Based on the information you provided, it seems that there might be a compatibility issue between your receiver and the Xbox Series X audio formats. Some possible steps you can try are:

    - Make sure your receiver has the latest firmware update installed. You can check this by following the instructions on the Onkyo website: Onkyo | Homepage (onkyo-av.com)

    - Try using a different HDMI cable to connect your Xbox Series X and your receiver. Some HDMI cables might not support the bandwidth required for some audio formats.

    - Try changing the HDMI audio settings on your Xbox Series X. Go to Settings > General > Volume & audio output > HDMI audio. Try setting it to Bitstream out and see if that makes a difference.

    - Try changing the audio format settings on your receiver. Go to Setup > Audio > Audio Format. Try setting it to Auto or PCM and see if that works.

I hope this helps and you can enjoy your Xbox Series X with full surround sound soon.

Will XBox Series X support external DAC/Amp hardware via USB?

There are multiple articles stating audio compatibility via USB. If optical is necessary, there are various HDMI to optical devices available which you may need to add.

"Some gaming headsets that utilize an optical cable may require a firmware update to support game and chat audio over USB on Xbox Series X. Soundbars and headsets that do not receive updates may be connected
directly to your televisions optical port."

    Xbox series x audio problem

Hi Dyt360433! My name is Ricardo an independent advisor ready to help you with this situation!

The console has only one HDMI output so I'm guessing you are either using and adapter to split the output or you connect the Sony device to your TV, any of those could have the issue

Could be some sort of input lag due to the way you have your setup
